Unshakable Confidence
This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick, Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church, in Los Angeles on April 13, 2026. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.
Today you’re going to learn how to have unshakable confidence. We are in revival, and you are part of the revival army. This revival is expanding all over the world. I’ve shared the vision before here at 5F Church, so if you haven’t watched it, you can see it on the Revival Army Training playlist. It’s called Catching the Vision. All of the teachings in the playlist are foundational teachings that are so important. Most believers are full of old wine, and their eyes aren’t opened up to the new wine. There’s so much to learn when you step into revival—when your eyes are opened up that God is moving in power now, that revival is now. And you have a lot to unlearn as well. So if you haven’t already, it’s very important that you watch these foundational teachings in the Revival Army Training playlist. You will get that foundation, that new wine foundation, in you. You will understand the spiritual realm, the Kingdom of God, and learn how to walk in authority and have victory and access healing and freedom.
God has given us a huge vision at 5F Church! God has already done so much in this revival. We have people planted at 5F from 170 nations around the world, and we have 47 small groups around the world. This revival keeps expanding and increasing, and we had our biggest event ever, where 10,000 hungry people came to Brazil in January to encounter Jesus. And we were just in the Philippines, where thousands came hungry to receive God, filling an arena. Glory to God!
God has done so much. He has increased His revival every single month and every single year. More and more people have come into the Kingdom of God globally, and we are going to see it increase in LA and in America. But what we have seen so far is just the beginning. It is a very small percentage compared to what’s ahead, compared to the magnitude of where this revival is going! It’s a small percentage compared to the thousands and millions who will step into revival—who will reject religion and the old wine and stop praying for revival—and receive God’s move and receive His anointed servants and the new wine that they currently are rejecting. It is coming! There are walls of Jericho moments ahead!
You are in this unique place right now, as among the first disciples, the first warriors in God’s revival army. You’re like the disciples of Jesus who didn’t leave him. There were thousands who came to Jesus’ ministry, to listen and receive from Jesus. They were excited about the miracles that were happening, about revival breaking out. But one day, Jesus preached a new wine message that offended so many. He said, “Eat my flesh and drink my blood to become saved” (John 6:54). And the Bible says that many left Him. He turned to His disciples, meaning just those that were remaining, just the Twelve, and He said, “Will you leave me too?” And they said, “Where could we go? Your word is life that we need to survive and live and thrive and be saved” (John 6:67-68). You are like these disciples. You’ve witnessed people reject Jesus when they once accepted Him, but you’ve stayed; you’ve stood firm.
You are like the first disciples of Jesus. You are so valuable and so important! You have such an important job to play in this global revival army. You are a warrior of God. You are among the first of millions who will be in the global revival—billions eventually, in God’s timing, whether that’s when we’re living or not. Eventually, billions will be in this global revival army. They will accept God’s move, the new wine, the anointing, and the power of God. They will accept the five-fold ministry, apostles and prophets. They will accept servants whom God has chosen to use. They will accept the ministry of deliverance. They will accept the ministry of healing. They will accept signs and wonders. They will accept the principles of God, such as being planted, how to receive anointing, impartation, the power of sowing. Currently, many reject this move of God that includes these things, but a time is coming when millions and billions of people’s eyes will open up—they will see, and they will come. Those times are coming.
When I was in the park and we decreased in number, when our church went from twenty to fifteen to ten to five to two, I thought, “How will people see that the power of God is here? How will people believe this prophecy, this real word of God that revival is now?” And then one day, in March 2021, the walls of Jericho came down. And God astounded us with the amount of people whose eyes suddenly opened up to see that revival is now and that this is real, that the power of God is real—that it’s not witchcraft, it’s not fake, it’s not acting. This power of God is real! It happened suddenly. From two pairs of eyes, basically, most of the time, seeing the truth and standing in this revival army, to uncountable amounts of people: thousands around the world. We’ve had international visitors come to 5F ever since that summer of 2021 to be a part of revival. Look at our God! This is what’s ahead. If God did that back then with two people and deliverance wasn’t even happening yet, what about in the future? This is coming! Open your eyes to see! Open your eyes to see your value, your importance—like the first disciples of Jesus.
I bet Jeanntal, for example, didn’t think that what she was doing was that important at the time. I bet she didn’t see her value the way she can see it more now. I sure didn’t see my value as I have more now—the importance of standing strong, that God is counting on me to be strong and preach His word, to have confidence, not give in to the naysayers, but to have confidence in what God has sent me out to do. The message that God has for you today is to awaken you to see your value and worth so you can have pure godly confidence that you desperately need, to walk in your purpose and be who God has called you to be.
So to be a warrior in God’s revival army, you must be strong.
You must be steady.
You must be unshakable.
You must know your assignment.
You must know you have a very important job to do and God is counting on you.
The body of Christ is counting on you.
Your fellow revival warriors in the army of God are counting on you.
You are not a bystander. You’re not a church goer. You’re not someone who just listens and you’re just a number or something. You are very important and crucial, in the part you have to play in this revival army. When you are not doing what God has called you to do, then we are all lacking. We must all be strong, confident, and steady. That’s how we will advance at the speed that God wants to advance us in His revival. That’s how more souls will come into the Kingdom, receive His power and love, and be equipped. You can’t be shaky. You can’t be unreliable. God needs to count on you. I need to be able to count on you. We need to be able to count on you.
You must have godly confidence in who you are. Godly confidence is different from worldly confidence. Worldly confidence is, “I’m so beautiful. I’m so hot. I’m so talented. I’m so gifted. I’m so great. I’m better than others. I can do this because I’m good at this, because I’ve had all this success in the past, because so many people tell me that I’m good at this, because I know for a fact that this skill I have is better than most people, so I got this. I’ve got this. I’m going to achieve this because I deserve it. I’ve worked hard for it. I’m qualified for it. I’m going to have all this money and success because I worked hard for it and I deserve it.” That’s worldly confidence. It’s so different, opposite from godly confidence. But you are called to have confidence, not worldly confidence. God needs you to have confidence, godly confidence.
Now, godly confidence is confidence in God. God lives in you. God is for you. He moves through you. He equips you. He gives you the ability to do everything. He's the one that opens up doors for you that no man can shut. He’s in control, and His plans for you are good: “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). You see, God chooses to use us as vessels. He chooses to use us as vessels to do most everything. When it comes to revealing His love, moving in power, and speaking His word, He primarily does it through vessels. That’s His principle. He can move outside the box, outside of His main principle, but that’s His main principle, His main way. So it’s important for us to have this understanding: God chooses to use us. God needs us. Not that He needs us, needs us, but He chooses to need us. God doesn’t need us; He’s God, and we are His creation. But He chooses to need us, which is humbling. So we have to have this understanding: “God is choosing to need me. God needs me, because He chooses to need me, but He needs me. He needs me to be His hands and feet. He needs me to love others so that He can move through them. It’s His love that He reveals to them. He needs me to walk in authority, to command demons to go, to command sickness to go, so that He can move through me to heal and deliver people and reveal His love, by His power.”
There are so many things in the Kingdom of God that we have to contribute to for the work of God to advance: through serving, through sowing financially. God could just make things happen on their own; He could just have the cameras record on their own. He can do anything. He could create video clips on His own. He could have angels come down and sing, instead of singing through people. He could have guitars just start playing and pianos just start playing, like you see those self-playing pianos. God could do that, but He chooses not to.
God could make money fall from the sky. We have to pay rent to this venue this month, so here’s the money falling from His hand in the sky. God could totally do that, but He chooses not to. He chooses to need us, to use us. We have to remember that.
We have to remember that God has chosen to use us to walk in authority. Jesus says, “I have given you authority” (Luke 10:19). He’s given it. That’s the same principle of choosing to need us. He said to Adam, “Go take dominion over all the earth” (Genesis 1:26). He said to Abraham, “I’ve given you all of this land as far as your eyes can see” (Genesis 13:15). He said to the Israelites, “I have given you a Promised Land, flowing with milk and honey, for you to take dominion over” (Exodus 33:3-5). He chooses to give you dominion on this earth. He chooses to bless you, for you to take dominion, for you to be successful on this earth, to be blessed and to be successful, as part of taking dominion. That’s how you take dominion.
We are going to take dominion. We are going to have a church building that’s going to be in a place in LA where everyone will drive by and see. It’s not going to be hidden where people can’t find it, but it’s going to be in a place where people will say, “What’s that? This building has been empty, but there’s something in this building now. What is that? There are a lot of people walking around with what looks like fliers in their hands. It has bright yellow letters on it. I wonder what that is? They seem so joyful. They’re smiling so big. It looks like a party out there. Hold on, I’m going to be late to the dinner; I have to pull over and check this out. I’m just so curious who all these people are with fliers in their hand and big smiles on their faces. I hear this energetic music. It’s like so much joy. This place is so bright. It’s like the sun is shining brighter over here.” We’re going to take dominion. We’re going to have a building. It’s going to have the name of our church so that people can find it. They will think, “Oh, this is a church. Well I’ve been feeling that maybe I should go back to church, like God wanted me to come to a church and start seeking Him. This is a sign.”
It’s going to happen, but we have to take dominion for these types of things to happen. These types of things can’t happen right now, to this extent. We will get there, but we have to know who we are and have confidence. We are called to take dominion and have a building, for God’s glory. To own the building, to be there all the time. People will be outside all the time, inviting people: “Come; come to church and encounter God’s power and love.” But we have to have that right mindset: “I know who I am. This is what God has called me to do.” But it’s all for God’s glory. It’s all for God’s purposes, with none of the selfishness mixed in and the benefits you can get from it. You have to reject those thoughts if they come. We really need to know who we are and what God has called us to and have this confidence: “I am called to take dominion. I am a beloved child of God. God is proud of me. God is choosing to need me. He is counting on me. He’s going to touch many people through my life. And He’s going to give me the ability to do all I need to do for Him. He’s going to give me the words to speak. He’s going to give me the ability to serve Him. He’s going to give me the provision. He’s going to give me everything I need. He wants me to prosper and succeed in what He’s called me to do, because that’s how He can use me the most powerfully, when I’m shining the brightest.” It’s when there’s nothing distracting anybody from receiving God’s love, His word, His power through you.
“Many are called, but few are chosen” (Matthew 22:14). You are chosen to be a mighty powerful vessel of God. You are a chosen one! Not in a prideful way, but you have to understand that so many people don’t surrender everything to God. You have chosen to surrender to God. You have chosen to lay down your life, to pick up your cross, and to follow Jesus. You’ve chosen that, so with you choosing that, to surrender to God, you have chosen to be a chosen one. So yes, you’re a chosen one—be confident in that. “I’m a chosen one! Many are called, but few are chosen, and I’m one of the few who are chosen. I’m special.”
Before you have this confidence, you have to first humble yourself. The Bible says, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” To fear God is to be humble. If you fear God, that means you’re humble. If you take God too casually, you’re not humble; it’s pride. It means you’re not seeing God and yourself at the right level. When you fear God, you see yourself down here and God way up there. But when you don’t fear God, you are putting yourself more on God’s level, or closer to God’s level, instead of seeing Him as Lord of all the universe, as the one who knows best, the one whose thoughts and ways are higher than yours, and the one who guides your steps. So before you have this godly confidence, you have to fear God and you have to be humble, because it’s not going to work to have godly confidence and not being humble—that’s going to be more like worldly confidence. You can only have godly confidence when you’re humble. Otherwise it’s like a spoiled rich kid where you don’t appreciate what you have; you act entitled to it and you want to act however you want to act and enjoy the benefits, not valuing your parents, not honoring your parents, not respecting your parents. You have to honor and respect God and see that you don’t deserve anything that He is giving you. It is a precious gift from God. It’s a gift from God that you get to be a child of God and have an inheritance, and be a rich blessed kid—rich in life, in peace, in joy, in healing, in freedom, and in all things.
In this message that I have for you today, we are dealing with the devil. We’re destroying him today. We are destroying all of his disgusting lies in the mind that try to beat down your confidence and try to make you insecure. He is going down today! You must be aware that the enemy may try to attack your humility and also your confidence. When he can't get your humility, when he can’t get you to give into pride, he may try to attack your confidence. He may try to use your humility against you. He may try to make you feel you’re not worthy, that you’re not good enough, that you don’t deserve anything. He may try to make you feel bad about yourself for not being perfect. Because those who are humble see rightly, like, “I don’t deserve any of this. Why me?” That’s good. They see that rightly. And when they make a mistake, they feel so bad about it. People who aren’t humble don’t have the fear of God. They make a mistake and they don’t even care. Sometimes they’ll think, “Well, I’m not as bad as this person.” They love fulfilling their selfish desires, and they want that more than they want to please God and serve God. You have to be aware of this. You have to be aware, especially if you’re a humble person, that the enemy may come and try to attack your confidence in a sneaky way.
There’s a saying my spiritual father, Prophet GeorDavie, shared with me: “New levels, new devils!” What that means is: the devil tries different things as you go higher, because when you keep going higher, that means that you’ve had victory. If you keep going higher, that means victory after victory. That means that the devil tried you, he tested you, and you passed the test and you had the victory. So the devil sees, “I can’t get them here. Okay, let me try something different now.” Because there’s no point in trying the same thing. Sometimes he’ll try to keep trying the same thing, maybe persecution, thinking, “I keep trying to send people to attack them, but they keep staying so focused and they don’t give in to peer pressure and fear of man! Agh! I have to try something different.” That’s the devil! So you have to be aware of his schemes. New levels, new devils. You have to be aware that he may come in a different way. Be ready! Be ready for something different, for this new thing that’s going on. Be aware when you think, “What is this? What is this going on in my mind? What is this happening here? What is going on? I’ve never experienced this before! What is this?” New level, new devil! This is what’s going on. “Okay, he’s coming in a new way? Well, I’m going to have victory again. I’m going to overcome again. I’m going to pass the test again.”
You need to be aware of thoughts that are coming from the devil that come through circumstances, such as through persecution. I can already let you know what the devil is going to try to do when persecution comes. And it should be obvious. I know a lot of you have already experienced this. When persecution comes, when someone or multiple people are speaking against you or against the ministry you’re a part of, the attack doesn’t end there. That’s the beginning. Then the devil comes with lies through that circumstance. He says, “Maybe there’s truth to this.” He tries to get you to question: “If they’re saying this and another person says this, they’re speaking against my faith, maybe I should question my faith? Because I trusted these people and there are a lot of people who are saying these things. There’s power to numbers and stuff, maybe…” The devil can suggest.
He can also come in this way: “Oh, you should feel so bad! People are rejecting you! Feel sorry for yourself! You’re alone!” These are the devil’s lies. I’m revealing the devil’s lies. “These people who used to support you—you loved their support. You loved that they were always supporting you; you loved hanging out with them; you loved receiving love from them. Now they’re rejecting you. This really stinks! Life stinks now!”
These are lies of the devil! He says, “Oh, more people are probably going to reject you too. It’s going to keep going. And it’s going to be so hard to do the work of God and to go to church. It’s going to be so hard and so heavy because people keep rejecting you. It’s easier to go to a lukewarm church because everyone is so happy with you. And you don’t need to be part of the power of God moving and deliverance and healing. No! Barbecues and picnics and entertainment are more fun. Come back to that!” These are lies of the devil!
And the devil can suggest, “Feel so sorry for yourself that you’re rejected!” He can try to get you to stay focused on that and to take your joy, when the reality is that you have better friends now; you have a better family in Christ than you ever had. And maybe there are fewer, but it’s way better. These friends are “iron sharpening iron” (Proverbs 27:17) and they are helping you fulfill your purpose. They are encouraging you in the Lord; they are helping you to please God more. And the devil can say, “Oh, feel sorry that you’re rejected so much.” And you can put all your focus there, and not put any focus on counting your blessings. Then you can forget about what your life was like before you became planted in a church where God’s power is. If you’re not careful, you can forget that. That’s what the devil is trying to get you to do. That’s his scheme. So when you start hearing these things you can see, “Oh! That’s the devil! I reject you, devil! I’m not giving you the time of day! I’m not listening to you! I reject every lie, and I am a victor! I will stay planted; I will stay faithful and loyal to Jesus. I don’t care about men’s or women’s opinions or words about me. I don’t care if I’m rejected. I count it all joy. I thank you, Jesus, for all the blessings you’ve given me. And I will follow you every single day of my life. I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying loyal to you, Jesus!” You confess these things. That’s how you have victory.
But you also need to be aware of thoughts that come out of nowhere. The devil sends thoughts and he sends attacks through circumstances such as persecution, but he can also send thoughts out of nowhere. It’s like when Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness. He was baptized, and there was no persecution happening. Everything was good, and there was no kind of negative circumstance that the devil could work through. All of a sudden, He’s in the wilderness and the devil’s speaking.
Sometimes we go through wilderness seasons, and the Holy Spirit leads us into the wilderness. He specifically tests us and allows the devil to tempt us; he uses it as a test. So sometimes, randomly, it might be testing time, and suddenly thoughts might be coming in your mind, out of nowhere. You need to be aware of this! Because the devil wants you to think that those thoughts are you. And the easiest way he can do this is to catch you off guard, where it’s not as obvious. When persecution happens, you can see, “The devil is angry about what I’m doing! I see you, devil! I see what you’re doing!” But if he comes randomly, speaking in the mind, it’s not as obvious. It could catch you off guard, where you start to think, “Oh, is this my heart? I don’t like these thoughts! What’s happening? Have I changed?” That’s what the devil wants, to catch you off guard. So you have to be aware that thoughts can come out of nowhere. The devil can send thoughts out of nowhere.
If you start having negative thoughts that you’ve never had before—thoughts that contradict the word of God—you can know that it’s the devil. If you haven’t opened up doors to the enemy and you’ve stayed constant with following God, and then all of a sudden these lies come, you can know it’s the devil. Because let’s say that it's been years that you’ve had this pure, humble heart, that you’ve been confident in the Lord, and out of nowhere thoughts come that contradict who you have consistently been for years—that’s not you! Be free! It’s the devil sending his disgusting lies. It’s not you.
Matthew 4:1-6
Then Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry. The tempter came to Him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took Him to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning you and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’”
Notice that the devil said, “If you are the Son of God”—a sneaky and accusing suggestion. He didn’t say, “Son of God, I’m going to test you now. Here is the test.” It wasn’t clear like that. “If you are the Son of God…” He was trying to get Jesus to question His identity. He was trying to shake His confidence. “If you really are beloved by God… If God really is proud of you… If He has chosen you…” This is uncertain.
The devil is trying to get you to be uncertain and question, because of his suggestions. The devil suggests. The devil accuses and suggests: “I don’t know. I think you’re wrong about this.” Accusing. Suggesting. He says it multiple times: “If you are the Son of God…” That’s what the devil will do with us. “If God has really chosen you to this high calling… If God is really proud of you… If you truly are pure and humble and righteous… If…” He will start putting those “if” questions in your mind to try to shake your confidence and to get you to question your identity. He wants to accuse your identity. The devil may say lies like, “You’re not needed.” He may try to accuse your heart. He may try to accuse your abilities. He may try to accuse you of your past and your past mistakes.
Don’t let the devil lie to you about God’s grace! Don’t let the devil lie to you about God’s grace. Because he will! He will lie to you, and he will try to get you to question God’s grace, compassion, mercy and understanding.
Hebrews 4:15-16
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Jesus was tempted in every way—hat means even in ways you haven’t been tempted yet. In every way! He was 100% man, and we see that it wasn’t a walk in the park for Jesus. If you’re 100% man and you’re going through 40 days of fasting as He was when the devil starts yapping at you, that’s not a walk in the park. Jesus was human. So He would have felt the way that you would feel—so hungry and weak, simply because He had a human body. He felt just as hungry and weak physically as you would. The anguish He had of going to the cross, even though He knew victory was coming and that the Father would be with Him through it all, and even though there was such joy set before Him, He sweated blood, because that was how much anguish He was experiencing. So Jesus truly empathizes with you. When you go through hard things, He empathizes. When you make a mistake, He has compassion. He knows that things aren’t always easy. He has compassion for you. You have to remember that, because the devil wants you to be so hard on yourself and forget God’s grace and mercy and compassion.
Romans 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (those who have given their lives to Jesus and truly love Him) because through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
“From the law of sin” means that you’re no longer a slave to sin, and if you do sin by making a mistake, you’re not bound to be shunned and shamed and dirty. You are free to be washed clean immediately, as you turn to Jesus and repent.
When your heart is good, that means you want to be in God’s will and please God and you want to live surrendered to God. That is your intention, and your faith is not only in words but in action. It’s not just staying in your head, but you are taking the steps to live surrendered and in obedience. If that is your heart, people of God, your heart is good. Your heart is good. Don’t overcomplicate it. Your heart is good!
Say, “My heart is good.”
You are the righteousness of God. Not perfect, but good! When your heart is good, most of the mistakes that you make, if not all of them, are unintentional. Do you know that you can make mistakes that are unintentional? You make mistakes because you just haven’t learned something yet. Are you to blame for that? No! Is God blaming you? No! Would you blame someone if they made a mistake but they didn’t mean to? And they made the mistake because they just hadn’t learned yet or because it was out of their control? Would you blame them? No! So why are you blaming yourself? God is not blaming you. The devil is blaming you; he’s accusing you. Don’t listen to him! We have to grow spiritually to know what’s going on in the mind and not let the devil get to us, steal our joy, trick us, or beat us down.
I want you to be free of this, because the more you do for God—and this applies for anything in life—the more you’re taking on, the more you’re doing, the more responsibility you have, the more opportunities there are for mistakes. It’s just how it is. If you don’t step up to sing a worship song here at church, you’re never going to miss a note. If you never come and play the guitar here in the worship team, you’re never going to play the wrong note. But if you serve God and start playing or singing, you might miss a note. You might not play perfectly. So you made a mistake. But if you didn’t even serve God, you would have made no mistakes. It is a principle: the more we take on, the more opportunities there are for mistakes, but we are doing more for God, and that’s what matters! God doesn’t ask for perfection. He asks us to do our best, to serve Him with excellence. And mistakes should be expected. We shouldn’t set out to make a mistake, but we shouldn’t be shocked if we make a mistake—and let it ruin our day. God is not condemning!
I want you to be free, because I’ve had to overcome this in my own life, and God wants you to overcome this now. Because when you’re pure in heart and humble, what you think would be displeasing to God grieves you so much. It hurts your heart so much. But we have to learn how to not be perfectionists—where we’re devastated if we make a mistake, when it’s just going to happen, it’s part of it. With some mistakes, you just didn’t know. You didn’t learn something yet and that’s why the mistake happened, so there’s no one to blame. You shouldn’t blame yourself. There are some mistakes that happen simply because of a misunderstanding. So no one is to blame. Then sometimes you could be wrongly blamed, but some things are just out of our control.
Sometimes spiritual warfare is a part of it. We need to be aware of that too. Maybe you’re unable to fulfill a responsibility because the enemy randomly attacked your health or attacked your sleep and you don't have as much strength that day. It’s the devil that’s to blame, not you. We need to be aware of this. We’ve experienced this in the past when we would have events. Jeanntal has been amazing, and I would share with her what should be communicated to the camera people that we would hire. It was a struggle for a while with the issues that we’d have, like technical issues with the videos and livestreams. And, it would be frustrating sometimes. And so I would make sure to tell Jeanntal, “Tell them this, this, and this.” She then would speak to them in person and instruct them and spend so much time: “It has to be like this, and if this happens, then this.” And she would even come to them if something went wrong in the middle of the service and talk to them. And still, we had serious issues, so often. It was crazy. It didn't make sense. So often it wasn't logical, like they didn’t hit “record” or they pressed the time lapse setting and the entire service was only like 14 seconds long. And there’s no way to fix that. But it didn’t make logical sense. There were things that were not logical, and I asked my spiritual father, Prophet GeorDavie, about it. He said, “Yes, sometimes it’s just the devil. That happened at our church too, so much. Sometimes it’s just the devil. It’s spiritual warfare.” But the camera people or even Jeanntal, who was the one responsible for communicating all these things, could feel so bad and think, “I really messed up,” and let it ruin her day. But it was the devil, 100%. She did everything she could.
We have to be aware of these things, of the way the enemy will try to do something—attack and say, “It’s your fault this didn’t work out. You made this mistake. You’re bad. You should feel really bad.” But you did nothing wrong. The devil is a liar! He’s exposed today! Victory today for God’s people!
Hebrews 10:35
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Your confidence will be richly rewarded! You need to persevere through the insecurity lies of the devil trying to beat you down. You can't control the thoughts from the devil that come in your mind, but you can control if you will accept them and let them control you and influence you. You have to stop beating yourself up. It would be as if Jesus was beating himself up for the devil speaking to him in the wilderness. That doesn’t make any sense. It would be as if Job was beating himself up for getting everything taken away from him. And it would be as if David was beating himself up for being in the wilderness, for hiding in the caves. That’s what it’s like.
So we need to awaken to this so that we’re not deceived by the devil. Part of having faith that’s pleasing to God—because we can’t please God without faith—is faith in who God says you are. Faith is not only the belief that God is good, that He’s faithful, and that His promises are yes and amen, but faith is also in everything that God says in His Word—believing it with confidence and living it out. The Bible says you can’t please God without faith, so there is a part of faith that is believing that you are who God says you are, that you are a beloved child of God, that He’s never condemning you but He’s proud of you, that He is for you, that you are a chosen one, and that He has all these amazing plans for you to prosper you and to give you hope and future because He loves you. You need to believe that He has given you dominion on this earth. He has a very important calling and assignment for you, and He’s choosing to need you. He’s counting on you. He’s going to make you prosper. He’s going to bless you. He’s going to make you thrive in what He’s calling you to do because He loves you, because He’s for you, and because He needs this for you—for you to shine brighter for more people to come into the Kingdom. You need to have this confidence in who God says you are! You need to know that this is pleasing to God. You’re pleasing to God when you have this godly confidence.
You need to confess the truth: “I am chosen; I’m beloved. God is proud of me. He’s cheering me on. He is with me. He is going to make me succeed and thrive for Him. He’s going to back me up. He’s going to open up doors for me. He’s so excited for what He’s going to do through me today. When I love people, when I am a vessel of Him, He's excited about it and He’s proud of me.” We need to confess these things. That’s not prideful—that’s walking as a son and daughter and in godly confidence that makes God proud. This is walking in victory over the devil, by confessing positively these words over yourself. It’s how you reject the devil. You say, “No, devil! I’m not giving you the time of day. I’m not listening to your lies. This is who I am. Shut up, devil! Get behind me, Satan.”
Servants of God like David, Moses, Peter, and the disciples made mistakes. Most of the disciples were silent and hid when Jesus was arrested. They all made mistakes. So why are you bent out of shape for making a mistake? Perfectionists are being freed! Peter made a lot of mistakes, but God made him the rock, the leader of all of the disciples, the first apostle of the church. He made a lot of mistakes; he even denied Jesus three times. Jesus had to say to him, “Get behind me, Satan.” He allowed the devil to speak through him. Imagine the lies the devil could have put in Peter. Imagine if Peter had said, “Jesus, you’d better just choose somebody else. I’m not worthy.”
When you make a mistake, you need to humble yourself and repent and say, “I’m sorry, God.” This is why mistakes are a blessing also, because they humble you. But they should humble you, not disqualify you or condemn you. Mistakes should not condemn you. Mistakes shouldn’t steal your joy. They should just simply humble you.
Open your eyes to see the love of God, to see His grace He has for you. To see that you have more learning to do—that humbles you.
Proverbs 24:16
For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.
A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again. This is God’s will for you: to rise again, not to beat yourself down more. That’s what the devil is trying to do. Rise again! Mistakes can be blessings. They humble you, and they remind you that you’re not on the same level of God, that you have a lot of learning to do. That’s a good thing—it opens your eyes. It’s a gift to be humbled. It takes you higher. God exalts the humble. So allowing you to make a mistake can be the way up. It wakes you up and takes you higher.
I also found that when I made a mistake, it built my compassion for others. Imagine if you’re perfect; you can’t relate with other people. You think, “Why do they keep messing up? Why do they keep believing the devil’s lies? Come on. What’s wrong with them?” You can start unintentionally judging them and condemning them. You may not even be a judgmental person, but you just don’t get it and you’re annoyed because you think, “Come on! We have to go fast and high for Jesus! What’s so hard about surrendering?” It may be that you’ve overcome the devil's lies, and the devil doesn’t attack you in that way anymore, but you see someone struggling with a lie from the devil and you think, “Come on, now.” It can be hard to have compassion sometimes, but then God humbles you after the devil comes in a new way in the mind, and it’s not a walk in the park and you listen to the devil’s lie. Your eyes open up and you see that you were listening to the devil’s lie and then you have victory, praise God! But that opens your eyes to see others differently. You can have compassion for them because they’re having their own spiritual war that’s different from yours, and they deserve that grace and compassion that God gave you and that you learned to give yourself. So mistakes can be a blessing.
The enemy is against you. People are against you. If you come against yourself, you’re doing the enemy a favor and you’re coming against God. If you come against yourself, you’re coming against God. I know that’s deep, but think about it. The devil is against you, Pharisees and others are being used by the devil to come against you, and now you start coming against yourself. Whose side are you really on? I thank Jesus for the eyes that are opening today!
You have to understand that beating yourself up is not humility. Listening to the devil’s lies condemning you is not humility. It can feel like it is, to think, “I don’t deserve this. I’m not worthy.” And then to start feeling bad about it. It’s not a good sorrow, but it's like a depressed victim. Nobody is worthy! This is God's grace. He has chosen to use you despite your weaknesses, and He is transforming you day by day. Trust the process! He’s not concerned that you’re not perfect. He’s not concerned with it. He’s okay with you growing still. You have to be okay with it too.
Humility is to be selfless, which is to serve God. Humility is to value what you’ve learned and to be strong for the sake of Jesus. Humility is to be selfless and to do the necessary to have joy and peace, and to pour into others. To be selfless is to do the necessary to fight the good fight of faith and to reject the devil’s lies condemning you. That’s to be selfless: so that you keep your joy and are able to pour out more to others. I’ve learned this in my life. I felt the difference in my life, from when I wasn’t as fierce to reject the lies of insecurity. I felt the difference when I got really serious about renewing my mind with who I am in Christ and rejecting the lies. I felt how much more I can pour out.
It’s important to know the difference between an attack that comes because of an open door and a random attack because God wants to lift you, so He’s bringing you into the wilderness and testing you. If you open doors to the enemy, the answer is to repent and seek Jesus. Make the action of repentance, confess you don’t want to do this sin anymore, and turn back to Jesus. Surrender to Jesus, and now reject the thoughts. Don’t condemn yourself for opening the door; just make sure you make the actions of repentance. But if it’s a testing, don’t be taken aback, wondering, “Did I open a door?” Humbly look in your life, but there’s no reason to unnecessarily condemn yourself for opening a door when it is simply God allowing this test.
I want to leave you with a testimony. I never wanted to be a preacher. Public speaking was my biggest fear and weakness, but God called me to preach and to be a pastor. I started preaching in 2017, every week for four years and then every single day during Covid. Most of those times, I battled with at least some thoughts of insecurity: “You’re not good enough. People aren’t blessed by what you’re saying. Look, people aren’t coming back, the church is getting smaller. You’re not really a preacher. You’re not good enough. You don’t have what it takes. You’re not charismatic enough. You’re not eloquent enough. You don’t have enough of the fieryness that you see preachers have.” I would deal with at least some of those thoughts, almost every time I went to preach, for about four years.
I recently heard of a preacher who has a massive church of several thousands of people, and he never wanted to preach. God called him to preach, to be a pastor, to take over this church. And I recently heard his testimony that for four years he would have those same thoughts, and he would look at himself in the mirror every time he would preach and say something like, “God has chosen you for this. He will give you the words to speak. You can do this. The people love you. There are people in the church who are blessed by you. They love you, and you can do this.” Forty years is the number of wilderness, so there’s something to the number four. I wanted to share that with you because that blessed me! I already knew that it was the devil lying, but sometimes when you see it in someone else, you see clearly, “Oh, the devil is a liar!”
You might see one of your brothers or sisters, and they're such a blessing to you. They’re such a great vessel of God. But they express to you that they feel bad, that they’re insecure about this and this, and you think, “Honey, the devil is lying to you! Are you serious right now? How can you think that? Are you kidding? You’re the most Christlike person I know. What in the world? The devil is lying to you. Come on!” And you feel in your heart you want to encourage them.
You need to see yourself that way. The reason why they’re still not seeing it is because the enemy is coming in their mind. So remember, these thoughts are not your own. The enemy will come in your mind sometimes, and you need to renew your mind to what’s going on, that these are not your thoughts. The devil is lying! You need to say, “Get out of here, devil. You’re not going to stop me from being strong and confident in doing what God has called me to do. I know who I am in Christ! Hallelujah!”
Praise Jesus! I see freedom in this place! Thank you, Jesus! I declare the devil is defeated. He is defeated in the mind today! Hallelujah! Praise God!
Say, “I am chosen. I am beloved. God is proud of me. My heart is good. My heart is pure. God never condemns me. God is for me! God is cheering me on! God is not afraid of me not being perfect. He has compassion for me. He has empathy for me. His grace flows every day to me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I will do all that God is calling me to do. I am powerful through Christ. I am strong. I am bold. I am courageous. I am confident. I am a warrior in God’s revival army. I will not fall for the devil's lies. The devil is defeated. I will not agree or believe with the devil’s lies. In Jesus’ name, I have victory, I am victorious! I am more than a conqueror! I have overwhelming victory! I am a champion of God! Hallelujah!”
