The Holy Spirit is the leader of this church. He is the leader, and He must have His way. We want Him to do what He pleases, and to touch people however He wants. That is my heart, and I know that is the heart of the members of Five-Fold Church. We have to fear God, revere Him, be after His heart, and truly make Him the leader. Today I want to teach you how to really make the Holy Spirit the leader of your life and the leader of the church. We have to be united in making the Holy Spirit the leader of this church. You have to come in agreement with me and with others who want the Holy Spirit to be the leader. So I’m going to share with you God’s ways, how He moves, how to understand His ways, and how to be obedient to His ways.

Acts 2:1-4

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire, that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit enabled them.

Wow! What a move of God! It got wild in that house when the power of God hit, when the fire of the Holy Spirit and the violent wind came. It got so wild, that it says:

Acts 2:13

Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”

People who didn’t know it was the Holy Spirit thought that they were drunk. That shows that they were living this wild out-of-body experience. It was supernatural, because the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon their lives. And when the Holy Spirit touches you and comes in power, especially when He has something significant for you that’s going to change your life or fill you with something you need, many times there will be a physical feeling or manifestation of some sort. And what God does is so great and so big that you can’t contain how you feel. It is the most euphoric feeling in the world when God touches you and does something in you. Sometimes you have to shout loudly. 

The fire of the Holy Spirit came upon us here at 5F Church in a significant, special, and unique way on May 3rd. There was a shift. God was prophetically speaking that there would be a shift in May, but we didn’t know the exact day. And sure enough, it began on May 1st. Then, on the first Sunday in May, I was on the stage and suddenly the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a still small voice: “It’s time for the men to rise up. It’s time for the men to take their place in this army of God, to not sit on the sidelines but be leaders, to stand bold and strong, to be men of God!” I then spoke it, and the moment I did the Holy Spirit fell on the whole church, in a way we had never experienced, and I did something I had never done before: I started running and yelling.

It reminds me of the very first time I spoke in tongues, when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I was so overcome and so full of joy that I was yelling in tongues. It was the first time that I tangibly felt God, so I couldn’t help but yell! 

But on May 3d, it was even beyond that. I started running and yelling in a very abrasive way. It didn’t sound very pretty, but when I went back to listen to it, I realized that a normal shout of praise couldn’t suffice. It had to be something more. That was the praise, the excitement of God that came in me, and that the whole church experienced that day.

There are times when the Holy Spirit moves, and that’s what happens. You become undignified and wild for Jesus, and you’re not even trying. When you surrender to Jesus and you’re not thinking about how other people see you, then you’re in the place where the Holy Spirit can take over. And then He does, and when you look back at the video, you feel the fire again, because it was a holy moment, a divine appointment, of heaven touching earth.

I want to show you some examples in the Bible of the power of God hitting people and their bodies not being able to contain it.

2 Chronicles 5:13

When the ark of the covenant was brought into the newly built temple, the glory of God filled the building so intensely in the form of a cloud, that the priests could not stand to perform their duties.

Exodus 40:34-35

After the tabernacle was constructed, the cloud of God’s presence came over it. And Moses was not able to enter, because the glory of the Lord filled it. He physically could not go in, because the power of God was so massive.

Ezekiel 1:28

When the prophet Ezekiel saw this fiery vision of the likeness of the glory of the Lord, he immediately fell facedown on the ground.

Daniel 10:8

Upon seeing an angel, Daniel lost all of his physical strength. His face turned pale and he fell into a deep sleep, facedown on the ground.

Revelation 1:17

When Apostle John saw the resurrected Jesus Christ, he fell at His feet as dead from the overwhelming majesty of the sight of Jesus.

John 18:6

When Jesus simply spoke the words “I am He” to soldiers that were coming to arrest Him, the sheer power of His voice speaking caused the guards to draw back and fall to the ground. This is what happens when the power of God comes. 

The Holy Spirit does what He wants. Sometimes He will move in this way and touch the whole church, where everybody has these encounters and their physical bodies sense and feel God. But at other times, it’s different, and God chooses to touch some people in this way, like those who need deliverance. We see that a lot at Five-Fold Church: when people need deliverance and when they get delivered, they fall back with God’s power or demons shriek as they leave. But other people don’t need deliverance—they’re not oppressed—so God speaks to them and does a work in the spirit, opening their spiritual eyes, building them in the spirit, and equipping them in the spirit. They may not feel anything. 

You’re not supposed to feel something physically every Sunday, even where revival is taking place. Get that out of your mind. I expose that condemning voice of the enemy that says that you’re missing out or that you’re doing something wrong.

Whenever God moves and touches somebody, He does it with purpose, whether that's delivering them, healing them, baptizing them with the Holy Spirit, releasing impartation of anointing, or teaching them by speaking through the anointed word. Those are the main things that God is doing when you come to church, and also in daily life. But all of that has a purpose. He’s not just doing it randomly. The purpose of God doing all these things is to make you more like Him: to open your spiritual eyes and to make you less carnal and more spiritual. And the more you know His love and see His love accurately, the more you grow in love with Him and are able to be more after His heart. And then you’re able to fulfill your assignment on this earth. You’re able to be a mighty, powerful, usable tool in God's hands, where He can use you to reach the lost and bring them into the Kingdom of God. That’s the purpose! When you come to church every Sunday, and at every event and livestream—God is moving upon your life. He’s doing something every time. He’s touching you every time. Sometimes there may be some sort of physical manifestation, but many times there isn't.

You should not be coming to church to have an experience. You should come to church to invite the Holy Spirit to have His way, to know Him more, and to be able to become more like Him, so you can be equipped to fulfill your assignment on this earth. 

The Holy Spirit fills us with fire. There are moments, as we have experienced in the month of May and at our annual church conference, Ignite, when we have experienced His fire like never before, and it’s been so powerful to see, “This is really God! These aren't emotions!” Because lives are changed after it. People fell back with God’s power, with the wind of the Holy Spirit, and they were filled with the fire, and then they were changed from that. Many of you were changed, and now you have more boldness than ever before and you have a passion for people to find Jesus like never before, whereas before you had fear of man and you weren’t as passionate about reaching the lost. But now your heart is burning—that’s the fruit of what God has done.

There are these moments when the Holy Spirit goes wild. He makes us wild. He makes us fall down, shout praises, yell in tongues, jump up and down until we’re out of breath. But our God is also a God of order. Wild and order: they might seem like opposites, but that’s our God. He’s both! We can't just be wild; we also have to be in order. What is so common in the body of Christ is for there to be mostly order and no wildness—no room for the Holy Spirit to pour out His fire and do something new and unexpected that makes you have to shout with praise and run and jump. And then there are some churches that are wild, but they’re more of the Wild West: there is no order. The enemy has brought so much division in the body of Christ, with different denominations, and most of them don’t want the Holy Spirit. But with the few that want the Holy Spirit, the enemy has come in and kept them from having order, so that the Holy Spirit can truly have His way. It has become the Wild West, and it has brought chaos and confusion. 

One example I can give you is this: with prophecy, there is order. It is so dangerous for one person to say to another, “Thus says the Lord, you should do this with your life.” It is dangerous to speak on behalf of God when someone hasn’t been anointed and appointed by God to be a minister. In churches where there is no order but there is a love for the Holy Spirit and for the wild parts of the Holy Spirit, it’s very common for there to be confusion and the devil masquerading as an angel of light. 

Some people have good motives, and some people have bad motives. Some have good motives, but it’s not God speaking through them because they haven’t been taught order or how to hear the Holy Spirit or how the devil can masquerade himself as an angel of light. And then there are people with bad motives who try to look very spiritual and they prophesy things that are not from God. 

So there are many people who think they’re hearing the voice of God coming through other people prophesying or through the angel of light in their own lives, and they’re going around in circles. They love God, but they’re not going anywhere. They’re not walking in their assignment and they’re stuck in bondage. And what God is doing right now, in this revival, is restoring what has been lost in the church. He’s restoring this order that’s been lost. He’s transforming and purifying the bride in this way, among others. Because right now, for most of the body of Christ, if Jesus came, He would say, “My Holy Spirit is not allowed in here.” But then He would go to another denomination, and He would say, “I’m allowed to move here, but there is no order so the devil is also allowed to move here.” 

So God is restoring order, and that starts with the foundation. 

1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people.

1 Corinthians 14:40 

But be sure that everything is done properly and in order. 

This means: how God wants, not just how you want, how you feel, or whichever way your emotions are going.

Psalm 133:1

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

How good and pleasant it is when we all live together, united in wanting the Holy Spirit to have His way: to be wild when He wants, but always in His order. 

Ephesians 4:11-14 

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 

We need the fivefold ministry in order for us to have the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. That’s one of the keys as to why people are seeing abundant life here—because the fivefold ministry is embraced: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, with apostles and prophets as the foundation. 

The apostles were the sent ones. They have the grace to operate in all five offices before the other offices come. For Five-Fold Church, there will be a time when we will have all fivefold offices here. Now there is an apostle and a prophet. My spiritual father, Prophet GeorDavie, is a big part of the ministry of the prophet pouring through me. If he’s like Moses, sometimes I’m like an Aaron, delivering the word of a prophet. There will come a time when there will also be evangelists, pastors, and teachers that sometimes minister. But we're building the foundation now, just like in the Acts Church, when the apostles were sent out first. And then the other offices came alongside. The prophets were there with them, too. The apostles and prophets were sent out together, like Paul and Silas for example, because Ephesians 2:20 says that the foundation of the body of Christ are the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus as the chief cornerstone. 

Ephesians 4 shows us how to have the whole measure and fullness of Christ. We must embrace the fivefold ministry and receive the equipping from the fivefold ministry, especially from apostles and prophets, because that’s what’s been missing in the body of Christ. That’s what brings maturity. That’s what brings prophetic eyesight so that the devil can’t fool around with people and with the church. 

Ephesians 4:14

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.

There are many in churches that don't carry the true prophetic eyesight that brings this revelation of order, like how not just anyone is supposed to prophesy. We’re all called to prophesy, but that’s not supposed to mean directional words for a person's life, because that’s too big of a responsibility for someone who is not anointed and appointed to operate in this gifting or office. So when the Bible says that we should all prophesy, that doesn’t mean directional words. It’s more about encouraging and edifying people, such as by letting God's love pour through you when you talk to somebody. I’m sure some of you have experienced a time when you said something so simple to someone. You felt a tugging in your heart to encourage them, and that was God moving through you prophetically. That day, they were feeling insecure, but God touched them through you. 

But there are some people who want to feel important or powerful. They manipulate people, puffing themselves up spiritually because they want to be mentors over somebody's life to make themselves feel better. And this is “the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.” You’re only supposed to listen to the trusted spiritual voices that God has revealed to you, which are your spiritual leaders where you are planted—through the teachings, through the counsel, through mentorship. 

This is how God brings order. God appoints leaders so that there’s no confusion. It’s not supposed to be complicated to know God’s will or to hear God’s voice. It’s so simple when you do things God's way, when you will hear God’s voice coming through your spiritual leader. And that’s not to say you will only hear God's voice through your spiritual leader, but as you respect that God's voice is coming through your spiritual leader, anointing and wisdom is coming in you and being imparted to you. So now when you read the Bible, you’re hearing the Holy Spirit's voice, whereas before you didn’t have that discernment. And when you go about your life, you hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit, because that anointing, that wisdom, has been imparted to you through the teachings. 

Some of you need to unlearn some things. For example, you may have been taught to always look for signs, and now the devil comes as an angel of light through a sign and you’re being taken anywhere, not knowing it’s the devil. Sometimes a sign is God; sometimes it’s the devil. So now you're here, unlearning things, through the teachings, and that’s part of how to grow in discernment and wisdom to hear the Holy Spirit's voice. 

The Holy Spirit follows His order, from leadership down, and He goes along with His order. So when we have church, for example, as the worship team is singing, whoever is leading a song is leading the church. If, for example, Jeanntal is singing a spontaneous Holy Spirit-led moment, and it's soft and gentle, that means the Holy Spirit is leading her to lead us all in worship in this way. It’s a holy moment. And the way we can all be united to follow what the Holy Spirit is doing through worship in that moment is to follow Jeanntal’s example—to respect, “The Holy Spirit is choosing to lead us in worship in this moment in this kind of way.” So we follow. That means that you shouldn’t be shouting loudly at that moment. 

Then there will be times when one of the worship leaders is singing loudly and shouting. That is the moment we should all shout and praise God as well. In that moment, God wants everybody to shout for Him, to be bold in praise. We should follow that!

The Holy Spirit doesn’t go against Himself. One time, when Jesus was preaching, a demon started manifesting in somebody. So He stopped the sermon and cast the demon out. There will be times when the Holy Spirit wants to do that here, and a demon will start to manifest. The Holy Spirit will lead me to stop the message for a bit, cast a demon out, and go back to preaching. But when someone doesn’t have a demon, the Holy Spirit will not be leading someone to go against what the Holy Spirit wants to do. 

There may be times when I’m saying something that is really hitting your Spirit, and you feel in your Spirit to say “Amen!” That is the leading of the Holy Spirit, and you will notice how everyone is in unity. That happens a lot here, where suddenly everyone stands up at the same time and people start shouting “Amen!” at the same time. It's because they are in line with the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit is coming like fire in them right at that moment. They can’t help but shout “Amen!” It is so important we do that because we’re responding in agreement to what’s being preached, to what the Holy Spirit is speaking. We are enthusiastically saying, “Yes, Lord! I receive it!” 

But if I’m explaining something to you, the Holy Spirit wouldn’t lead you to do something that would distract others. It’s kind of common sense and etiquette. You can sense when the time is proper and in order to shout “Amen!” But sometimes if people want attention or want to appear spiritual, they can say something random during the teaching that becomes distracting. It’s not in order, and it’s not led by the Holy Spirit. So we should have a heart that we don’t want anyone to be distracted. When we come to church and we’re following the Holy Spirit, it's like the Holy Spirit is driving. Sometimes we are on a roller coaster with Jesus, shouting loudly and going wild. But sometimes the Holy Spirit is going calmly and we ride calmly with Him. We all come attentive to the Holy Spirit. That's how we are all in unity, and where God can have His way. And that’s how we are able to be equipped and no one is distracted. 

I want to show you an example of where we see this happening in the Bible, where the devil likes to come where the presence of God is, because he wants to get in the way of people receiving. 

Job 1:6-8

One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth going back and forth on it.” Then the Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.” 

From there, the devil asks God if he can test Job. God says, “Yes,” and you know the story. Job passes the tests, and the devil is only allowed to attack him for a time. Then God redeems and restores Job way more than the devil took. But look at this: One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The angels are in heaven presenting themselves to the Lord, and Satan came with them. What? He’s allowed? Yes. So we have to be aware that the enemy sometimes wants to distract people from receiving from God in the church. He sometimes wants to come in a way that makes people feel uncomfortable. Sometimes he will move through a person—someone who wants to look spiritually important, so they are shaking and moving their body all around or yelling. But it’s not God, it’s not a demon manifesting, and it’s not the Holy Spirit coming upon them. And because it’s not from God, it actually ends up disturbing and distracting people and making people feel uncomfortable.

However, when a demon is manifesting in someone, maybe shrieking loudly, and then you see God free them, you see relief come to their face, and you see joy—and you know that it’s real. You know it’s authentic. You know that a person was bound and they were set free, so you really don’t mind the shrieking. Maybe it wasn’t very pleasant to hear, but because you saw that God was freeing somebody, spiritually you see how beautiful it is, so it doesn’t bother you. It's quite the opposite—you see it as beautiful, and you rejoice. 

Acts 16:16-18

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. 

Through this girl, the demon was speaking truth, and it could have looked like a good thing to honor and testify, but it was actually a demon speaking, so it wasn’t going to bring good fruit. It wasn’t going to bless the servants of God or encourage them, and it wasn’t going to lead other people to Jesus—because it was a demon speaking. When someone is led by the Holy Spirit to testify, you can feel the Holy Spirit through it and it touches you. But when this demon spoke, it became annoying. And so Paul was “greatly annoyed,” and after a few days, he cast the demon out. This can happen today. This is an example of where there isn’t order. When people don’t respect order, they may not have a demon, but they’re being influenced by the devil to bring disturbance and to annoy people in the house of God. So it’s important for us all to have this heart to respect the Holy Spirit and to respect the people of God. The people of God have come here to the church to receive from God. We have to see what a serious deal this is. Don’t mess with people’s divine appointments. You don’t want to get in the way of that. So we have to have that respect to know: “It is not my place to prophesy to somebody. It is not my place to counsel somebody here. My job is to come and respect the Holy Spirit and receive from Him just like everybody else.” You should see every single person as precious. They have come to have their divine appointment with God, and you have come to have your divine appointment with God. This is holy ground. Come in unity for the Holy Spirit to be the leader of the house. Come in the Spirit, to be in one accord with your brothers and sisters in church and for the Holy Spirit to have His way. That’s such a big key to why we see God move so powerfully here: because there is this unity. 

God has made it so that mostly pure hearts will be here. The pure in heart shall see God (Matthew 5:8). Others believe the lies of the Pharisees or don’t have the right motives, so the enemy finds something to keep them from coming. It’s so important to be aware that when you are coming to a church where the anointing is, this is where the enemy is afraid of people receiving anointed teaching. So sometimes he can try to use people to bring distraction or discomfort. Be spiritually aware to know the enemy's schemes. Don’t let any person or the devil take you away from where God has called you to receive all blessing, anointing, equipping, and impartation of anointing. You have to protect it. You have to be aware of how precious it is, and sometimes you have to fight for it. 

1 Kings 19:11-13

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

The voice of God was in a still small voice. Sometimes God comes in the wind, sometimes He comes in the earthquake, sometimes He comes in the fire, but sometimes He comes in a still small voice. And it is so important that we see that any way that God comes is equally beautiful. We are not missing out if we don’t feel the wind or the fire. That day, God didn’t come in the wind or in the fire. He came in a still small voice. It was the same God, and it was just as powerful and transformative. 

Let’s be a church where God has His way, and where we are real before God. We are not trying to feel something. We are not trying to look spiritual by having manifestations. No, we follow His leading however He wants to come. If He comes in an earthquake, we’re ready. If He comes in the wind, we’re ready to be pushed down and look undignified. If He wants to come in the fire, we will sprint around because it’s like we are on fire and we can’t stay still.  But if He comes in a still small voice, we’re just as excited, and we’re just as content. We’re spiritually minded to have the revelation that God has touched me just as powerfully today through the Word and through the anointing as on a day where I felt Him in fire. 

We need to be real before God, because when you fake it, it’s like you’re not even seeking God. There has been abuse in the church, the Wild West, and now some people look down upon speaking in tongues, deliverance, and the manifestations of God. So many people see it in a bad light because of not doing things God’s way or in order. The Holy Spirit wants the body of Christ to know Him—to really know His Spirit and to really encounter His Spirit. He’s calling us to be leaders to show the way. This is how beautiful and powerful the Holy Spirit is. He moves however He wants. Sometimes He moves in the wind, earthquake, or fire, and sometimes He moves in a still small voice. Sometimes we are wild, and sometimes we are calm and orderly. This is our beautiful Holy Spirit, and this is what He wants for every believer. It’s time to be attractive for Jesus, to represent Him rightly. Are you ready to represent Him rightly? It’s time for people to say, “That’s beautiful, that’s real, I can tell that’s not made up. I can tell that’s not emotions. That is real and I want that.”
