The Heart of a Champion

This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church in Los Angeles, CA on November 2, 2025. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.

The Apostle Paul liked sports. We can tell because in many different Scriptures, he refers to sports. As he looked at sports, he saw parallels between sports and the kingdom of God, of our lives as soldiers of Christ, as warriors of God.

My dad is a retired physical education teacher. He coached many sports, and to this day, at age 78, he is still umpiring high school baseball and refereeing soccer, running up and down the field. He has always had a love of sports. I remember when I was at home and sports were always on the TV, and I didn’t like it. I didn’t join him to watch any sports, except for the Super Bowl. But I loved sports, and I played sports. I played soccer and I played basketball, but I didn’t really enjoy watching sports.

But since I went from being a lukewarm Christian to a revival warrior—a warrior of God, a soldier of Christ in battle daily—now when I see sports on TV, like the World Series, I am reminded of my life. I am reminded of my life as a warrior of God: the parallels of determination, perseverance, endurance, working hard, and positive believing. When you’re down and you keep believing that you can come out victorious, you don’t give up, but you keep on going. You keep thinking positively, and then victory comes! Even when other people counted you out, victory comes, and great joy. As I watched the LA Dodgers win the World Series yesterday—their joy to win, the joy on their faces—it touched me because it reminded me of the joy I’ve experienced because of my victory through Christ, because of the victory that God has given us in his revival, his move.

I was so blessed to be at one of the World Series games, the one in LA that they won, and I got to see the players rejoice wildly—just as much as last night when they won the World Series. But I noticed at the end of the other games, they didn’t rejoice as much because they were ahead by more. It’s like when you are down and people are counting it against you—when it’s seeming unlikely, but you keep believing, you keep working hard, you keep persevering—and victory comes. The reason they are so joyous with that victory is because it was not easy—it was difficult, and they worked for it.

I have experienced the greatest joy in my life upon seeing the victory of God over the enemy in my life after the enemy came against me with persecution, attacks, and at times feeling like he was winning—just like Joseph would have felt in the pit and in the prison, and David would have felt being hunted by Saul. But I kept working hard, focusing on Jesus. I kept on believing, and then I have seen God bring victory time and time again. I have seen the devil be defeated, and that has been the greatest joy. We have joy in Christ in every season, but the joy on the mountaintop—after being in the valley, after going through the refining fire—is the greatest joy.

There is a Scripture that says that we should endure and keep persevering, and be good soldiers in Christ (2 Timothy 2:3). We should be OK with putting up with the hard things—we should endure and persevere through that with a good heart, because Jesus did that for us, and Jesus shows us it’s possible for us. Jesus, with the joy set before Him, endured the suffering, the persecution, and the cross (Hebrews 12:2). There was a valley. There was a wilderness. There were hard things: persecution He had to go through before getting to the mountaintop of victory over the devil. But the joy that came with that victory, the joy that you—that all of us, all people who would turn to him—could be saved, was the greatest joy. It was worth it! It was worth going through the hard things.

We are champions of God. You are a champion of God—that’s what God is calling you to. The Bible says, “We are more than conquerors through Christ” (Romans 8:37). Another translation says, “God has given us overwhelming victory.” In other words, He has given us the championship. God has made you a champion all the time, overwhelming you every day. You are a champion of God. That is what God is calling you to, but you must learn to have the heart of a champion and really be a champion.

Ephesians 6:12

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

We are in a battle, or you can call it a race or a game. We are in a fight against the devil. We are in a fight to win, and God has given us everything we need to win. But we have to fight; we have to step in the game; we have to run the race with endurance. And so, every day, you are not just a Christian, you are not a churchgoer. You are a champion, a warrior, and you’ve got to have that mentality: Every day I’m in a spiritual war

Like in the World Series, there was one game the Dodgers won but the game wasn’t really close; it wasn’t much of a battle. There will be days where you’re not feeling the heaviness of the battle. There will be days where there isn’t any persecution coming your way, but you are still fighting the good fight of faith. Even then, you’re still in the game, and you have to keep this mindset. You have to keep your eyes open spiritually, to be on guard to make sure that you are keeping your heart of a champion, that you’re keeping spiritually fit so you’re ready in times when it gets more difficult, when the enemy comes with an attack.

This war that we are in is a spiritual war, and it’s important that you remind yourself of this. When a player is in the game, they know they’re in the game. If they forget that they’re in the game, if they’re in the outfield and they’re daydreaming, they’ll miss that ball. But it can get quiet in the outfield, I imagine, when no one is around you. It’s peaceful at times. But you have to keep your head in the game. You have to be aware of the schemes of the devil in the mind

The schemes of the devil are the lies that he can bring in your mind. These lies can just pop up in your mind, they can come from a dream, or they can come through other people's words or actions. This is how the devil brings these attacks. So, you need to make sure you are diligent to be a disciple: to be in the word of God daily, to be a disciple and learner, a good student of the teachings of where you are planted.

An athlete doesn’t just do their own workout; they will have trainers that give them specific exercises. They know when it’s time to workout the arms, the legs, this muscle, so they give specific exercises so that the athlete can be strengthened in that area. The athletes don’t have that expertise, the trainers do. Your spiritual leaders are your trainers. The word of God is like the weights and exercises that somebody can do on their own, but you need a trainer to give you exactly what you need. The purpose of the five-fold ministry, according to Ephesians 4:12 is, “to equip the body of Christ, so that you would no longer be immature but you would be mature.” Mature vessels of God are able to have victory over the devil; they’re able to know the devil’s schemes and to see in the spiritual realm.

God’s way of equipping the body of Christ is through the five-fold ministry, through your spiritual leaders’ teaching. This teaching, for example, is not random; it’s not something I felt to do. It’s led by the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit knows what you need. He knows the discipline you need, the certain exercises you need to strengthen something in you right now that is a weakness, something in you that is missing, something in you that—if it’s not worked out, worked on, and strengthened—could lead you to lose when the devil comes and attacks this weakness. That’s the importance of being planted; it’s part of what happens when you’re planted and staying focused on the spiritual food that God knows that you need and the exact times that you need it.

So be diligent to hear the word of God, to listen to these teachings with an open heart, to listen to them again and meditate on them, and then apply them in your life. This is not for you to hear and say, “Oh that’s a good word. I’ve learned about the principles of God today, I’ve learned about the kingdom of God today, I learned more about God today.” No, this is for you to apply. This is for you to go to the spiritual gym and workout in your own life.

You need to make sure that you are aware of the schemes of the devil coming in your mind and coming through other people. You need to know the word of God. You need to know the real revelation of the word of God. That’s how you will be able to know the character of God. That’s how you will be able to know what is a lie of the devil speaking against the word of God. It is so important that you are diligent to be a good disciple.

2 Timothy 2:5

And athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.

2 Timothy 2:7

Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all of these things.

Paul is saying this, “Athletes cannot win the prize unless they follow the rules.” And then he says, “Think about what I am saying. The Lord will help you understand all these things.” The Lord will help you understand what I am saying right now.

Let’s go to 1 Corinthians 9:24 to have more revelation about this so the Lord can help you understand.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Isn’t it obvious that all runners on the racetrack keep on running to win, but only one receives the victor's prize, yet each one of you must run the race to be victorious. A true athlete will be disciplined in every aspect, practicing constant self control in order to win a laurel wreath that quickly withers. But we run our race to win a victor's crown that will last forever. For that reason, I don’t run just for exercise or box like one throwing aimless punches, but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control, so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.

Going back to 2 Timothy 2:5, “And athletes can not win the prize unless they follow the rules,” and then this last verse, “After preaching the good news to others, I myself will not be disqualified.” So you can be disqualified from victory. God is calling you to be a champion, but you can only be a champion when you play by the rules, by God’s kingdom rules—when you abide by God’s kingdom rules, His kingdom principles. To summarize what that looks like: surrender to Jesus.

We heard testimonies today, and they were all similar actually: each one shared that they weren’t seeing certain victories and breakthroughs in their lives until they surrendered all and abided by God’s principle: to be planted in one church that is anointed, where God is calling you to be planted.

To be a champion of God means to have victory over the devil in your own personal life so that there’s no bondage anymore, no sickness, no oppression of any kind, no lack, and you’re walking in abundance, in your inheritance of God. It also means seeing promises that God has made you come to pass: promises for your own personal life and promises for the church, for this move of God in revival. Being a champion means having total victory over the devil, where every promise comes to pass, where you are walking in abundant life.

But you can disqualify yourself if you’re not surrendered. It’s like being an athlete and training so hard in the gym but cheating with the diet or with performance-enhancing drugs, or in other ways. You’re working very hard, you’re doing all the right things, but this one thing ends up disqualifying you.

You can’t hide from God and you can’t hide from the kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is a matter of sowing and reaping. It’s a matter of doing something and then accessing the grace of God, the anointing. It’s God Himself who releases the miracles, the breakthrough, the blessings, and the anointing. But He does it according to His principles. He has grace, so when you miss it, He doesn’t push you out; He gives you another chance. But in the moment, you’re disqualifying yourself from receiving the blessings that God wants to pour out on your life right now.

God wants you to have the miracles right now. He wants you to advance to go to a higher level spiritually now, He wants you to experience more joy now. But if you’re disqualifying yourself, God has to hold on to the blessings and to the miracles until you choose to play by the rules—until you choose to revere God, to humble yourself and realize that, “God sees me. I can’t cheat; and I repent. I don’t want to cheat anymore; I want to please God. I want to go by His rules, by His principles. I want to be fully surrendered.” Then you step into His will, you swim in His grace, and you walk in this supernatural overwhelming victory easily, immediately, and quickly.

A true athlete will be disciplined in every aspect, practicing constant self-control in order to have the victory. And Paul says: I don’t just run for exercise. But I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body, I get it under my control, so that after preaching the good news to others, I myself won’t be disqualified.

You are supposed to train like a champion athlete. You are supposed to take your spiritual growth so seriously. It’s up to you how much and how quickly you progress. It’s up to you how much work you will put in the spiritual gym. Every champion has some sort of weakness that they work on. They see, “This is my weakness. I need to work on it and work on it and work on it. I need to be intentional and have self-control, self-discipline, and work hard.” You must be that way in the spiritual realm for the weaknesses that you have. God will convict you. Don’t push the conviction away. If you do, it’s making you stagnant and you will miss out on the blessings that God has for you right now. Hear the conviction of God and take it seriously, as if it’s the most serious thing in the world. You have to be intentional.

God lives in you. The Holy Spirit lives in you. And part of the Holy Spirit is self-control. He gives you supernatural strength. You can do hard things through Christ—you absolutely can! It’s up to you to get serious about that conviction and to be intentional to make the change. This is what it looks like: When you hear conviction—through a teaching for example, or as you are reading the Bible, or maybe when you make a mistake and you act in a fleshly manner and you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, the still small voice, saying, “That was carnal”—respond to it. Don’t push it away. Respond to it in the right way: “This is correction for my good. It’s not condemnation; it’s correction for my good. And God is calling me higher, for my good.” And what you should do then is to talk to God and be open to God, saying, “God, I see that I have a weakness here. I don’t want this fleshly nature. I don’t want this old wine in my life. I don’t want this impurity in my heart.” And be open to Him. When you seek God wholeheartedly, then you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). You will find Him, you will find His strength in you, you will find His power helping you have self-control and the power to deny the flesh, to crucify the flesh, and live in a Christlike and godly way. It will happen. Try it! Try God! He absolutely will help you. It’s up to you to put in the spiritual work, to take it seriously, to have this discipline.

When you ask God for help, make a plan. Make a spiritual workout plan. First of all, make sure you are filling yourself with the word of God, that you are renewing your mind. Make sure you are crucifying your flesh, denying your flesh. And renew your mind: “I don’t want to mess up in this area again.” For example: “I have judged people in my heart and even spoken it out. I don’t want to do that again.” Or, “I have acted prideful in some situations.” Or, “I have blamed somebody for something that wasn’t their fault because I didn’t want to blame myself. This is what I have done in the past, and I don’t want to do it again. I want to be humble. I want to be selfless. I want to have compassion. That’s what I want.” And pray, “Help me, God. Help me to be this way.” Renew your mind with teachings about these topics.

Last week for example I taught about how Jesus is so loving and compassionate, void of judgment. So you should be going around your life, whatever you are doing, meditating on how Jesus treated Zacchaeus, on that revelation, the way your eyes opened up to the word of God. As you think about it and you meditate on it, you find yourself saying, “I’ve been judgmental towards this person in my life. I want to see them as Zacchaeus now.”

You make the intention throughout your day. You don’t just show up to church and call it good. That’s like showing up to a gym practice and calling it good. You have to go to the spiritual gym yourself, and you have to do your own specific workout, because your weaknesses are different from other people’s weaknesses. This is up to you personally. “Constantly practicing self-control,” Paul says. He’s constantly practicing self-control.

Another aspect of a champion is that they think positively. They have confidence that they can win, that they can do this: “I got this!” The Bible says, as a man thinks, so will he be (Proverbs 23:7). This is a spiritual principle, even for those in the world that aren’t believers. Like athletes, if they are thinking very positively, they are going to see results. If they are thinking as a champion, they are going to become a champion. But the difference is that when you are a believer, you have protection over the victory, and the victory goes to the glory of God. The victory becomes a way that God can use you to shine for Him. The victory isn’t in vain. The victory is not a victor’s wreath that withers. But when you think positively, when you think, “I can do this through Christ! I have the victory. The devil is puny and he is defeated. And I am more than a conqueror, God has given me overwhelming victory, then when that victory comes for you, God will use it for His glory. God will make your light shine so brightly and your victory will be protected. It will be lasting. It’s a victory in the spiritual realm, which is more important than victories in the physical realm.

When you think about champions, like in the World Series or in the Olympics, they are the best of the best up against each other. In many cases, their abilities are the same. It just depends on the day, but mostly it depends on their mind, on their mindset. If you are going to the World Series or to the Olympics, to any championship game where you are competing against the best of the best, those champions know the facts. They know that their abilities are all about equal. But those who are champions, who made it that far, they made it there because they are thinking like a champion. They are not thinking, “Well, the chances of me winning are about 10 percent, because we all have the same ability and there are 10 of us. So I don’t know what the point is.”

They don’t think that way. They think, “I’m going to win! It doesn’t matter that we are all on the same level.” Then, when they start to get behind, guess what? They still think, “I can do this! We can do this! We are behind now, but we can come back. We can win this!”

They think that way and that leads to their victory. Athletes are applying the spiritual principle of positive believing and many of them don’t even realize it: As a man or woman thinks, so he or she will be.

The devil is like Goliath and you are like David. He will make it seem like he is so much bigger and so much stronger, like the chances of you winning are 0.001 percent. He’ll make it feel that way in different circumstances, in ways the persecution will come and in the attacks you have in your mind.

In my life and in this ministry, our church was getting smaller and smaller every year for four years, which looked like the opposite from the promise of God. BUT GOD! He came through and brought overwhelming victory in His perfect timing. He made everything beautiful in His perfect timing, like in the extra inning. I saw the first World Series game that was played in Los Angeles. There were 18 innings that night, and that’s very rare. The longest game ever was also played by the Dodgers, and it was also 18 innings, I think in 2018. But those of us who went were expecting 9 innings. At most we were expecting 10 or 11. So I found myself watching, full of expectation, thinking, “OK, the next one and it will be over. OK, the next one. We got this in the next one. We got this in the next one.” And it reminded me so much of my journey with God! Because, the prophecy “Revival is now!” came in 2017, and it was such a powerful word. It was given with great joy and excitement and expectancy through Prophet GeorDavie, my spiritual father. And that’s how God wanted it. God says, “REVIVAL IS NOW”! He doesn’t say, “Revival is now, but not for a few years!” He tests our faith through it. And it was already there in the spiritual realm. I was living in revival. Jeanntal started living in revival about a year later. We were small but mighty, glory to God. We were small, but we were experiencing revival. And the only way to see the revival break out was to carry the revival fire, to say, “Revival is now! Any second we are going to see many come to Jesus, be healed, be delivered, and many miracles happen!”

That’s how the victory would come. We had to have the mindset of victory: “Victory is ours! Revival is now!” Rather than, “Well, actually, we’re most likely going to have to go through a lot of persecution and wilderness seasons. It’s going to be a few years probably. We’re getting smaller and smaller. We’ll probably have to keep going through this valley. (Sigh.) But, revival is coming.”

Speaking with that negative tone, looking at the circumstances, would not ignite the revival fire in you who are here today and for people back in 2021 when the revival first broke out. It would not have ignited the revival fire. Because everything God does is based on faith. We receive Him based on faith. Faith attracts the miracles. Faith attracts the anointing of God. So I had to be full of faith. I didn’t know when we would see the victory, but I had to walk with the heart of a champion: “Victory is ours! God will be faithful to fulfill His promise and I believe it’ll be any second—in God’s perfect timing, but I am ready any second. Let it be any second!” With this fire! That’s what unlocked the power of God to make the first demon be cast out, which led to revival breaking out wildly. And before that, that faith led me to put out a video that went viral and through which so many miracles took place.

We can’t be void of faith, doubtful, going by logic or by circumstances or by sight, and expect the supernatural victory of God.

You having that faith, that heart of a champion, and seeing in the spirit now makes the victory come!

If you ever start thinking negatively—and a lot of you can probably attest to this—you’ll probably find that you don’t feel as energetic, that you don’t have as much strength. That’s how it is with athletes. If they start thinking, “Oh, we’re down; I don’t know if we can do this, they’ll lose! But if they can believe, “We can do this!” they have energy and strength to perform and see the victory.

Part of having this heart of a champion is protecting faith and not allowing doubt to enter. Doubt makes you spiritually weak. It makes you not as sharp in the spirit to see the devil’s schemes. It makes it easier for you to believe the devil’s lies, because you’re already in the frequency of his negative thinking and you are choosing to engage in that negative thinking. You are choosing to have doubt, to condemn yourself. You are choosing to listen to the devil’s voice, and then when he sends other lies—more damaging lies—it’s already going along with what you are choosing to think about. That’s the importance of being in the word of God. It helps you renew your mind that “This is the truth. This is the truth. This is the spiritual way, this is the godly way. These were lies I was believing. They must get out!”

Hebrews 12:1-3

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Consider Him. Renew your mind with what Jesus did, so that you can be empowered to do as He did—to run this race with perseverance, to keep your eyes on Him and on pleasing Him.

Paul is saying that in order for you to win this race, in order for you to have victory, you have to throw away everything.

. . . let us throw off everything that hinders, and the sin that so easily entangles.

If athletes were to eat junk food, it would weigh them down, right? And if they were to allow negative thoughts to remain in them and even speak the negative thoughts, that would also weigh them down. They would not have as much strength and energy, right? So spiritually, you need to make sure that you are throwing off anything that is weighing you down, anything that is entangling you. It does not seem like a big deal to eat the cupcake—you can eat a cupcake, unless you need to fast or deny your flesh because of gluttony—but for athletes, it doesn’t seem like a big deal for them to have a little junk food, but that could make the difference between winning or losing the game, when they might miss sliding in and hitting the base and getting the home run by a millisecond.

Junk food doesn’t seem like a big deal. This is how it is in the spiritual realm. This is the seriousness of total surrender, because when you don’t surrender everything to Jesus, there’s something entangling you, something holding you back and weighing you down. There is something that is making you not as spiritually sharp. There is something that is even opening up a door to the enemy. And you’re wondering, “Why? Why am I not seeing this breakthrough?” It’s as simple as closing that door. It’s as simple as total surrender. It’s not a matter of just doing the religious things, checking off the list, praying, fasting, reading the Bible. It’s about surrendering everything. Those things about which God is convicting you in your heart, pay attention. Don’t ignore it. Surrender it all.

Today we heard testimonies that were so prophetic: When they became fully planted, they were in awe of all the miracles that started taking place, with ease; and the abundant life, the victory, and the impartation received.

Prophetically, I want to share a couple of things. For each of you, it's something different that you need to throw off. You know what it is—God has been speaking to you and He’s going to speak to you more, bringing this conviction. But I want to also speak prophetically. I see that for some of you, doubt is hindering you: doubt that God will really come through, doubt about how God sees you, doubt about receiving from Him.

Not every miracle or healing or deliverance manifests immediately. The people who had leprosy came to Jesus, and he told them, “Go show yourself to the priests” and the Bible says that “on their way they were healed” (Luke 17:14). That’s the equivalent of Jesus being here ministering at a church, praying for a person one-on-one, and that person not seeing any change when they left the church. Yet, the next day or the next week or the next month, or maybe a few months later, they see the manifestation of their miracle. There is a testimony of a baby whose ear opened up a few months after she was set free at a Revival is Now event in Nashville. This family drove from Georgia to 5F Church when we were meeting at Elysian Park. They drove all that way to testify. They were so overjoyed! They didn’t say, “Why did it take three months?” They were so overjoyed!

God moves differently when it comes to healing and freedom, and sometimes He purposely moves in a way that seems like a delay, as a way to test your faith, refine you and strengthen you through it. Any time your faith is tested and you have to choose faith over doubt, you grow—your faith grows. You grow spiritually, and this is what God wants. That’s how you’re able to be victorious. That’s how you go to the spiritual gym, by your faith being tested and going through the fire. That’s going to the spiritual gym. You’re working your way to the victory of the promised land! That’s why God allowed Joseph to be in the pit and the prison. He was building his spiritual muscles. He was building his character muscles to be this huge leader, to be in the highest position besides Pharaoh in Egypt, so that he would not let pride or ego or power get to him. Because his spiritual muscles had grown so much, his character had been shaped through that refining fire, through that testing of faith, and he could do God’s will when he got to the promised land.

That’s what God wants for you, and that’s what we should want for ourselves. We should love the refining fire. We should love the testing. Any time the refining fire comes, there’s a testing, and we should think, “This is for my good. Of course this is happening. Of course God is doing this. Thank you Jesus. Thank you for taking me to the spiritual gym. I’m going to become a champion now.” Thank you, Jesus. Glory to God.

I see prophetically that another thing that may be hindering you is condemnation. Some of you are believing the devil’s lies condemning you. This is weakening you. This is making you not have the energy and strength that you need. It’s making you not think positively. It’s making you not have the strong faith that “God is with me, God is for me.” It’s important you have this godly confidence that “God is cheering me on. He wants me to win. God has grace for me. If I make a mistake, He’s cheering me on. He wants me to repent and transform and go higher, not punish me.” It’s so important you keep that in your heart, that you renew your mind that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

Some of you need to throw off condemnation because this negative thinking about yourself is draining you. It’s draining you spiritually, and it’s weakening you spiritually. You need to see the seriousness of listening to those condemning lies. You need to have grace for yourself as Jesus has given you grace. You need to accept Jesus' grace. This is so important for you to have victory in your own personal life, but also so you can shine the light of Jesus to others. We can only love people when we accept the love of Jesus for ourselves. We can only show grace to other people when we accept the grace of Jesus for ourselves.

Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The heart of a champion of God knows that there’s going to be supernatural forces that will bring this victory.

That’s why it doesn’t matter if you’re in the pit, if you’re in the prison, if you’re facing Goliath, or if you’re being hunted in the caves by an army. It doesn’t matter! Because if God is for you, who can be against you (Romans 8:31)? Who can defeat God? Nobody! You can bring an army of millions of people with demonic powers and witchcraft powers and they will still not be able to defeat God. They will not be able to defeat you when you are serving God. They will not be able to defeat this revival, this move of God. Hallelujah! And this is a simple fact that God is calling you to have childlike faith in. You can think, “This person said these lies about me, but it doesn’t matter! They can't stop anything! These people came with this kind of attack against me, but it doesn’t matter. They can’t stop anything. I still have victory in Christ. We’re going to see the victory.” Hallelujah!

That’s the heart of a champion. We are winning no matter what, because God's on our side. We are standing with God. We are not here on our own accord. We are not running our own race. We are not fighting our own fight. We are fighting the good fight of faith that God has commissioned us to fight. We are revival warriors standing in God’s army. God has commissioned you; He has placed you on this earth for this. This is God's battle. REST in Him. REST in His victory. He’s a God of suddenlies. He’s the God that made the walls of Jericho come down supernaturally. He’s the God that made a little stone kill a giant. It doesn't make logical sense. It’s supernatural! It’s the suddenly mighty power of God at work that brings the victory.

In this verse it says that:

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

This is supernatural. They will soar. We will soar on wings. We will fly. We will fly through life. You will fly over the dogs trying to bite your feet, over the ways the devil is trying to pull you down. You will soar like an eagle and fly above them. This is a supernatural fight and we have the greatest power—God's power—on our side. The devil can’t reach where the eagles are. He can’t reach. This is how every battle is in your life, EVERY BATTLE. Every battle that we face, as an army of God, is supernatural. Simply, God will bring the victory supernaturally. Other people are fighting on the ground but we are going to fly above—we who hope in the Lord; only those who hope in the Lord, who believe in God and in His mighty power.

David was a champion. No one else wanted to stand up to Goliath, but David said, “I’ll fight him.” He didn’t say this with pride. He didn’t volunteer himself foolishly or naively. This was the heart of a champion in him. This was his faith in God speaking. “I’ll fight him!” This was him responding to God’s call for him to be a revival warrior, a warrior of God who would believe in God so that God could do wonders through him and defeat the devil—to lead to the salvation of many lives, to the protection and advancement of God’s kingdom.

God wants you to have this heart.

I keep thinking about the testimonies we heard today, and how prophetic they were! How Ashley said, “At first I didn’t want to be planted, to be all in, because 5F Church seemed like a difficult calling.” This is prophetic! I think she’s glad that she chose to be brave and accept the call, the not-easy call but fulfilling call of being a revival warrior in this global revival.

She said, “At first I didn’t want to come because it seemed difficult.” And that was the attitude of those Israelites who wouldn’t step up to Goliath. But David said, “I’ll do hard things for you, God. I’ll step up and I’ll face the persecution and those ugly things they’re saying to me, those ugly things they’re saying about my spiritual leader. I’ll look them in the face and I'll stand proud. I’ll stand proud with you, Jesus. I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power that leads to salvation.”

This is the heart of a champion who’s ready for a fight, who won’t back down, who sees that many people are being cowardly. God is looking around and asking, “Who can I choose? Who can I use?” And you say, “I’ll fight them! Use me. I’ll be a revival warrior!” That’s what God is looking for. And it’s worth it because this is where the victory comes. Those who wouldn’t fight Goliath didn’t get to have the great victory that David experienced.

Joshua was also a champion of God; he had a champion heart.

Numbers 13:27-28, 30-33

“We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!”

Caleb had a champion heart, too!

But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”

There’s that spirit of a champion, the heart of a champion like David had. “We can do it! Let’s conquer it!”

But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” So they spread this bad report about the land among the Israelites: “The land we traveled through and explored will devour anyone who goes to live there. All the people we saw were huge. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!”

But Joshua and Caleb refused to believe the enemy’s lies. They refused to be intimidated, just like David refused to be intimidated. They are the ones that got to see the victory. The others didn’t get to see the victory because they didn’t believe in God’s power to see them through and bring them victory.

Joshua 6:2

God says:

“I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors. You and your fighting men should march around the town once a day for six days.”

Joshua 6:4

“On the seventh day you are to march around the town seven times, then the walls of the town will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the town.

Joshua 6:20-21

When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it with their swords—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, goats, and donkeys.”

God says, “I will give you the land.” And Joshua and Caleb, and the men with them, said, “We believe that God is giving us this land. So even though it can’t happen in our human understanding, we believe that God will make it supernaturally happen.” They were able to possess the land because of that.

I shared prophetically that it’s time—it’s the season for the revival army, for all of you, for all of us, to possess the land that God has given us. It is God’s will for the whole body of Christ to be purified and transformed to look like the church in the book of Acts—to carry the power of God to cast out demons, to heal the sick, and to release God’s power that reveals His love to people so that they may be led into true salvation, true surrender; not a religious type of becoming a lukewarm Christian. It is God’s will that the whole body of Christ would be purified, that there would be purity in the hearts, that people would be really after God's will in the church. God is restoring the five-fold ministry. He’s restoring all of His ways that we see in the book of Acts to the body of Christ today. This is what God is doing in this revival. Those who have said yes to His revival, all of you, all of us, we are His revival warriors and He has given us the land. You are leaders. We are leaders that will show the right way, that will be examples of purity, of God’s power, of God’s will, of what His heart is, of what His will is for the church.

This means that God is opening up eyes for people to see the truth. The testimonies we heard today were that they didn’t see the truth at first, but then God opened up their eyes. All of these testimonies were the same. God then opened up their eyes and they saw the truth. There are hundreds, thousands, millions in Los Angeles, in California, in America, in your nation, all over the world, who are just like these ladies whose eyes didn’t see at first but now see. It’s the year of acceptance, and God is moving supernaturally to open up eyes where they were blinded before.

This means that it’s time for us to have hearts of a champion and take the ground that God has given us by shining our lights brighter than ever, by being more bold than ever, by testifying unashamedly, by having such a heart for people to encounter Jesus in His fullness. This is your prophetic direction right now. Have the heart of a champion and take the ground. The walls of Jericho are about to come down in another way. We’re about to see that. We’re about to see God's revival go to new heights in this year of acceptance and next year. We’re about to see this. So you need to shine brighter than ever, to be bolder than ever, to be ready as a champion to win the victor's crown, to see the victory, to see this overcoming of the devil’s persecution and to see the victory for God's move, for God Himself.

Hallelujah! Glory to God! Thank you, Jesus!
