This word today is for some of you who haven’t been experiencing total victory in your life. You received deliverance, but you’re still not walking in total victory. I’m going to share a key with you today of how to walk in complete victory over the devil and have abundant life. This is God’s portion for you—that you would walk in abundant life, that it would not be a constant struggle with the devil, that you wouldn’t have to keep dealing with these battles the devil brings. The Bible says that God gives us overwhelming victory (Romans 8:37). This is your portion. 

Some of you are not experiencing overwhelming victory. Some of you are experiencing victory, but many days, you don’t feel like you’re experiencing victory. Some of you are experiencing victory, but you feel tired from the battle. That’s not God’s portion for you. 

It’s God’s portion for you that you would have abundant life and overwhelming victory. I’m a testimony of this. In my life, it’s not a struggle between the devil and me, glory to God. But this is what God wants for all of you: that the devil would be so much under your feet that you don’t feel like you’re fighting—you’re flying above him. It’s an overwhelming victory! If you ever have to reject anything, it’s done with ease, and the devil has to flee! It doesn’t affect your peace or joy or what God is calling you to do that day. 

For many of you, it's time to start walking in this great victory that you have not yet experienced. It’s time now! The power of God, the anointing, delivers you. When the true anointing is here, demons have to go. When the anointing is not really there or it’s not a high enough level of anointing, some or all the demons stay, or sometimes a minister fights the demons and they don’t actually go. If there’s no anointing, the demons hide and there aren’t even manifestations or a fight. But when the real anointing is present, demons have to go! They don’t stand a chance. That’s what we see in the ministry of Jesus and with the apostles and the five-fold ministers in the Book of Acts. Demons left with ease and there was no struggle. They had to obey the authority of Christ executed. 

Why Deliverance Looks Different for Each Person

Deliverance looks different for everybody, and it depends a lot on a person’s past: the doors they opened, how long they have been oppressed, and how deeply they opened the doors. If they went directly to the devil’s kingdom instead of unintentionally opening doors, like they went to witches and opened up doors to witchcraft, that brings a deeper oppression. All of these factors contribute to the deliverance process and journey—it’s different for every person. 

When the real anointing is present, a person can have many demons and be totally set free at one time in the presence of the anointing. The anointing is that powerful, and that happens many times here in this revival. Other times a person can have several demons and oppressions, and they aren’t delivered of every demon at one time, but it’s a deliverance process, layer by layer. Sometimes God actually has a purpose as to why it happens in layers.

God can see the heart, and sometimes a person’s heart isn’t for God—it’s just that they want to be free. They hear about deliverance taking place, so they come to receive freedom, but they don’t come for God. God can see that heart. And maybe they don’t even know that about themselves, deep down. They’re praising God, maybe they're even churchgoers, but God can see the heart and so He can sometimes see in a person, “If I deliver them from everything and they receive what they want, they’re not going to come back. They’re not going to keep seeking me at church. I need them to be at church where they can continually receive my anointing, where they can continually receive equipping, have their spiritual eyes opened, be in my will, be equipped to walk in their purpose, and serve me in my work.” 

Some people’s hearts are different: their heart is for God and they’re really oppressed by demons, and God may deliver them immediately of everything because He knows that they’re going to want to keep coming back and seeking Him. But with other people, He can see if He delivers them from everything, they won’t come back. He wants to help them have hunger, so He will deliver them from one layer, but not everything at once. And He knows that as the person keeps coming, the anointing continually transforms them, and little by little their heart begins to change. They start to grow in love with God, and because they keep seeking, they are able to keep finding more and more of Him.

There are different keys that unlock complete deliverance, and I’ve taught all of these keys. I have a playlist on YouTube called How to Receive and Maintain Complete Deliverance and my book Unlock Your Deliverance,  in which I share all the keys that unlock your complete freedom and how to maintain that freedom. You need to know how to do your part to maintain that freedom because the devil wants to take it from you. We don’t have time to share all these keys today, so make sure you go and read the book and/or watch these videos, but I am going to briefly summarize these keys. Some people need all of the keys. Some people just need some of them. It depends on each person and what specific oppression each person has.

A Quick Recap of How to Receive Deliverance

The keys that unlock deliverance are: 

1. Positioning yourself where the anointing is. It’s the anointing that destroys the yoke, so you have to position yourself, just as people did in the times of Jesus. They came to Jesus to receive His ministry—to hear His word and receive His power, and the power emanating from Him made demons to go. And then Jesus imparted this anointing and authority to the first disciples, and then He gave them the keys to the Kingdom. He gave Peter the keys to the Kingdom, and then they began doing the same works He did. And the Bible says that people who were sick and oppressed came under Peter’s shadow, and all were healed ad delivered (Acts 5:15). So we see this principle of positioning yourself where the anointing is flowing—this is what makes demons go.
2. Another key that unlocks total deliverance is faith—faith that God has the power to heal and deliver you, and that He wants to heal you and deliver you, that it is your inheritance as a child of God that you would be healed and freed. By His stripes we are healed, the Bible says (1 Peter 2:24). Faith is also in God’s ways of releasing healing and deliverance through is anointed vessels, and choosing to position yourself where God’s power is moving. Whether you’re driving, flying, or watching online, you position yourself under the anointing and believe that God is going to heal and deliver you when you get under the shadow. You need to have that kind of faith: faith in God’s ways; honor and respect for God’s anointed servants. A lot of people just want to receive deliverance straight from God, not through a vessel, but you have to have that faith, that belief, like it says in the word of God, that this is God’s way of releasing deliverance: “I believe I’m going to receive the anointing through this vessel. God’s going to touch me through this vessel.”
3. The next key is to renounce. To renounce means to use your authority in Christ and reject the devil’s portion in your life. All oppression and all sickness are the devil’s portion, the work of the devil. So the opposite of renouncing is agreeing: agreeing with the diagnoses, with the devil’s portion, and thinking, “This is just life. It’s been in my family; I’ve had this for so long; this is just normal. People have this, and I just have to put up with it. I’ll try other things to deal with it. This is just my life.” That’s the opposite of renouncing. It’s accepting the devil’s portion. To renounce is to use your authority in Christ and say, “I reject this diagnosis. I reject this pain. I reject this sickness. I reject this anxiety. I reject this depression. I reject this addiction. I reject this mental problem.” You’re kicking the devil out. You’re saying, “No, devil, you can’t stay in me. I don’t accept your portion in my life. I receive healing by Jesus’ stripes. I receive my inheritance as a child of God. Devil, you can’t take my inheritance as a child of God.” You come in the presence of the anointing and you speak aloud. You renounce these things, and as you do. this is another key that unlocks your deliverance. And in many cases, it’s very important that you renounce specifically. Sometimes it’s important to really take time with the Holy Spirit and think about what you need to renounce. A woman shared that when I prayed for her daughter, I asked the daughter, “Is there anything you would like to renounce?” Because the Holy Spirit led me to see that she needed to renounce specific things—this was the key to unlock her deliverance. 
4. The last key is sowing into God’s kingdom to void the sowing that a person did into the devil’s kingdom. It’s simply giving yourself to God and surrendering. You receive deliverance as you surrender to Jesus, and part of surrender is contributing to the work of God—giving to God what is precious to you. Sometimes a person has sowed so much into the devil’s kingdom, and the key that unlocks their deliverance is to sow into God’s kingdom. It has nothing to do with paying for anything. You cannot buy healing or deliverance. Healing and deliverance are free from God and nobody should charge to pray for healing and deliverance over somebody. It’s the spiritual principle of surrender to God, and it’s an aspect of surrender to God, of giving yourself to God and rejecting the devil. Some people have given themselves so much to the devil in their past and they haven’t given much to God, and now they want freedom without giving themselves to God. You have to be ready to give yourself to God. For some people who have sowed so much into the devil’s kingdom, God is requiring them to give more and more of themselves until that total freedom comes.

How to Maintain Your Deliverance

Maintaining your deliverance is so important to walking in total victory. To maintain your deliverance, it’s very important that you surrender everything to God. This includes keeping doors shut to the devil—seeing where in your life there’s a door open and closing it. You need to mean serious business about closing these doors—not treating your surrender to God casually, but taking it so seriously. 

Another principle of how to maintain your freedom is to be planted in a church where God’s power is moving and where He’s calling you to be planted, so you can be equipped to fulfill your assignment on this earth. To be planted means to be a true disciple—not a churchgoer, but a student: picking up your cross and laying everything down to be a disciple. To be planted also means to contribute to the work of God, both through serving and sowing into God’s kingdom. 

Lastly, another principle of maintaining your deliverance is to value the deliverance you’ve received—to not treat it casually or take lightly what you have received. You value what you have received by testifying: by sharing what God has done for you and being unashamed of what God has done for you—of God's power that has set you free and healed you and changed your life. Another way to value what you have received is to renew your mind to what God has given you: to what your life used to be like, and to what your life is like now after receiving freedom. To value what you have received is to be truly grateful rather than being focused on what you don’t have or focusing on selfish ambitions. 

Receiving freedom, walking in abundant life, and having total victory is simple. If you apply these keys, you will be totally free. Jesus will help you to be totally free and walk in abundant life. 

A Sneaky Scheme of the Enemy

You also do have to be aware of a scheme of the devil to try to trick you into thinking that you’re not free. Sometimes the devil is angry that you’re free and he comes up with this really sneaky, tricky scheme to send lies to you saying that you’re not free. But you are. It’s simply a thought thrown in the head. The Bible says that as a person thinks, so is he or she (Proverbs 23:7). So if I think, “I’m going to be used by God today, and God is going to be able to use me as I speak and as I pray for people,” then I’m able to hear from God and preach the word, and God can flow through me and touch you. But if I were to believe the devil’s lies and think, “I don’t think that what I speak today will be very good. Maybe I didn’t have enough time to prepare. I don’t know if I feel very confident,” then I will hinder God from moving through me. As you think, so you are. If you think you can’t do something, you’ll find you won’t be able to do something. If you think, “I can do this,” because God is calling you to do something, you’ll be able to do it supernaturally. You’ll access the supernatural power of God and you’ll be able to do anything that God is calling you to do. It’s a very simple but powerful and true principle: as you think, so you are.

For some people, the devil sends thoughts to them like, “You’re not really free.” You could be free of anxiety, but you all of a sudden have these thoughts of anxiousness. But it’s not a demon within—it’s the devil sending thoughts that feel so familiar as when you had a demon. Now you can believe these lies and think, “I have an anxiety demon. I’m still oppressed, or maybe there were more demons.” So then you start living in that. The devil can then even send impulses in your body to manifest physically, because If the devil can send thoughts to you, he can send a feeling in your hand of shaking or even screaming. That can happen, where people are fake manifesting and they don’t know it. It’s because they are believing the devil’s lies, and the devil is able to control them so much. They keep thinking that they need deliverance but they’re totally free. They could be walking in freedom and abundant life but it’s like they had a chain around them that was cut off, but they think that the chain is still connected to them. The prison door is open but they are staying in the prison. 

The Enemy’s Scheme of Flashbacks and Memories

When a person was oppressed for a long time, let’s say in the mind, they were used to being oppressed. They became used to that work of the devil in their life, so that when they’re free, the enemy can send memories of having demons. And a person can think that it’s real, that it’s demons. But it’s not demons—it’s a memory; it’s a flashback. It’s a shadow of the past. And this is a scheme of the devil to make you think that you’re not free, that you need more deliverance. What’s so important to understand is that if a person was oppressed for a long time in the past, even if they have been free for a while—maybe it’s been several months or a year—and then all of a sudden they experience attacks, they can be afraid. They can think, “Oh I have a demon again” or “Oh, the devil is really attacking me so much.” But it’s none of that. It’s a shadow of the past: memories, flashbacks. It’s not a real power of the devil over your life. It’s not a chain wrapped around you. It can feel like it is, but it’s a facade from the past. It’s the devil trying to haunt you and hunt you with your past, but the chain is gone. It’s not a part of you. Hallelujah! 

A person can be totally free, but their soul and mind need to be transformed. And when a person has been oppressed for a long time, often their total freedom in the mind comes last. You’re freed from demons, but that total transformation and walking in victory comes last. So people can be flustered and worried, thinking the devil is so powerful, but it’s a facade. It’s the devil trying to make you afraid, trying to make himself look big. But it’s simply from the past, and it has no power over you if you will believe the truth and reject the devil’s lies.

This can come in visions or dreams or even as a sound. Maybe a person feels like they’re hearing demons in their ear or in their mind. And it can be the enemy lying, bringing the past of when you once had demons. It’s so important for you to recognize this scheme of the devil, of how big of a liar he is. He’s the father of lies. 

So when you experience freedom in your life and you really know the power of the anointing that’s coming upon your life regularly, and all the sudden, out of nowhere, you find these things happening, you have to renew your mind. You didn’t just suddenly get oppressed by demons, and you didn’t open up any big door or anything. The devil is a liar! He’s angry you’re free. And this is one of the schemes he brings—especially if you had been oppressed for a long time and had opened up big doors in the past. The enemy would like to come in this way because it was a part of you for so long and it is easier for him to bring these flashbacks to you, as opposed to someone who wasn’t oppressed for so long or with something so deeply. If this happens to you, it’s so important to renew your mind to: “Yes, I was oppressed for a long time. Yes, I opened up big doors, but I am totally free now. And of course the devil’s angry. Because I was oppressed for so long, he can try to bring these flashbacks, but he is a liar and a loser and I reject him. The past must stay in the past and I’m going to continue walking in this total freedom and abundant life and overwhelming victory over the devil.”

You have to walk in your authority and be adamant to reject the devil anytime these things happen, instead of being worried, “What’s happening? Do I have demons again? The devil seems big and scary.” BE STRONG! Be mature! Remember how big of a liar the devil is. He’s under your feet, and he has no power. Reject him, resist him, and he must flee. If you have applied all the keys that unlock deliverance and if you are really serious about your surrender to God and you have been careful to maintain your deliverance, and then you find this kind of thing happening, now you know what’s going on. There’s no question.

Today’s message is a prophetic message, because there are some people who are struggling with this right now. And some people are confused, asking, “I’ve tried everything. I’ve applied all the keys. Why? What is happening?” This! The devil is a liar! Don’t overcomplicate it. Don’t listen to him. Don’t give into his lies. Don’t think he’s more powerful than he is. He is under your feet. You have been freed. Who the son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). Keep walking in this overwhelming victory and these lies will disappear.

Acts 8:26-39

Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the book of Isaiah the prophet. The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. This is the passage of scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.” The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?” Then Philip began with that very passage of scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. 

If you find that this is happening to you, the first thing to do is to not let the devil fool you, and renew your mind with what I’ve shared today: “This is what’s happening. I need to reject the devil. He’s lying. The past is in the past and he must flee when I resist him. I don’t have any demons. I just need to resist him and reject him.” That is the first step. But the second very important step to being totally free from the devil trying to haunt you from the past, is to fill yourself with the word of God and to devote yourselves to the teaching of where you are planted. In this passage that I just read, this Ethiopian didn’t understand the word of God and he needed someone, an anointed servant of God, to teach him the word of God. 

Colossians 3:16, AMP

Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind, permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach.

The Amplified version actually breaks it down and gives true revelation. It says, Let the spoken word of God dwell within you, permeate every part of your being. One of the biggest keys to victory over the devil and walking in this abundant life is having the word of God dwelling within you, including the spoken word of God. Because just like the Ethiopian, who needed revelation of the word of God through an anointed vessel of God, you need this! This is why God gave the five-fold ministry. This is why God gave apostles and teachers and instructs these five-fold ministers to teach the word of God. This is a big reason why you come to church: to be equipped by the word of God, to hear the teachings. Something supernatural takes place when you hear the teachings. Your spiritual eyes open up to understand the spiritual realm, to understand the word of God, so that when you read the word of God on your own, you’re really hearing from God and comprehending God’s voice and growing in the spirit. And as you do, the devil can’t fool you, and you’re growing in discernment and wisdom; you’re growing more powerful in the spirit. When the anointed teaching comes forth towards you, it’s feeding your spirit man. It’s a supernatural exchange. A supernatural experience is taking place when you hear the word of God, the teachings. 

Acts 2:42

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teachings.

This word of God is showing what believers should be doing today: devote yourselves to the teachings. When you devote yourselves to the teachings, this is one of the big ways the word of God dwells within you and permeates you, and that is the biggest key to having victory over the devil: to be filled with the word of God. It’s what gives you wisdom and discernment. You’re able to hear God’s voice, to discern the devil’s schemes, and it makes you strong in the spirit over the devil when you have the true word of God dwelling within you.

The biggest point of this whole message today that God wanted me to share with you for how to walk in this total victory is to devote yourselves to these teachings where you are planted. So many people are overcomplicating it. If you would simply devote yourselves continually to the teachings, you will find that you are walking in victory. You’ll find that you won’t have questions. The devil will try to attack, and you simply have victory over him. You won’t have to struggle and think, “This attack of the enemy is coming! Man, it keeps coming! I don’t know what this is. I don’t know what to do.” That won’t be a thing. The word of God is dwelling within you. It equips you to walk in this wisdom to know what to do, to have strength, and to reject the devil.

Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world,

This can mean: do not conform to the non-spiritual ways. Do not conform to listening to the devil.

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

When you listen to the teachings and meditate on the them, you are renewing your mind. The word of God is coming in you and cleaning you; it’s clearing out the devil’s lies, the things of the world. It’s simple. I want you to understand that this is something supernatural that takes place. Just be obedient to being a disciple and renewing your mind with the teachings and you’ll see this victory take place in your life. You’ll see yourself grow big and strong in the spirit. You’ll see the devil so under your feet like you’ve never seen.

The word of God is the sword of the spirit. When you continually carry the sword of the spirit, the devil can’t touch you. The sword never leaves your hand because the word of God is so big, so fully, in you.
