No Longer Slaves
This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick, Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church in Los Angeles, CA, on January 15, 2024. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.
I am so expectant for what God is going to do as you read this! We have entered a new level of this revival and of God’s anointing. I shared about two weeks ago that we have to be flexible with the Holy Spirit, because God is the great I AM WHO I AM; He can do whatever He wants! We can’t put Him in a box, and we can’t think He’s only going to move in one way. No, our God is a God who takes us from glory to glory, Who says, You will do the things I did, and you will do greater things (John 14:12). He will do different things, new things you have not seen before. There was this shift where the Holy Spirit was saying, “I am going to move in a new way now, completely new, completely different!” It was a new glory, and it was a time of deliverance, where demons were being cast out one after the other.
So we need to expect God to keep changing things up, to do new things and to move in new ways! We are going to see the dead raised; we are going to see God move in a greater way! Like with Apostle Peter, where there was not even a word declared but just the shadow of the anointing, and all demons were cast out! Because God is increasing His anointing, He is increasing the level of authority!
Today you need to take out your thinking of “God only moves this way.” All the teaching you received—even the teaching you received at 5F Church—let God expand from there. Whenever you receive teaching, it’s not meant for you to put God in a box, but for God to build upon. So be expectant for God to do a new thing, to move in a new way today!
Today is your day of BREAKTHROUGH! There are some of you who have needed and prayed for a breakthrough for a long time, seeking deliverance, and praying, “Lord, when will I be completely free?” TODAY IS THE DAY! If you can believe, take all the limits off of God today, it will be the best decision of your life. That’s full surrender!
God is releasing a revelation today. The Bible says, My people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Because of lack of knowledge of how the devil works, of the devil’s specific schemes and all the intricate ways that he lies, My people perish. But the Bible says, My people shall know the truth. When they know the truth, they shall be free (John 8:32).
This is why we need the Holy Spirit! We need the real five-fold church with anointed teachings that really open up spiritual eyes! We need anointed words, rhema words of God, meaning a present tense word of God today: “This is how the devil has been lying to you. Now, be free from that deception!”
It’s not just about casting out demons. You need to KNOW the truth. You need to be able to have victory over the devil! You need to be smarter and wiser than the devil. That means we ought to take being equipped, growing, and being nurtured in God’s anointing and in His church seriously. Because the devil has been around for a long time, he is a spirit, so he knows the spiritual realm. But most Christians don’t know the spiritual realm; they’re carnal. So we have to take it seriously to get on the level of the devil in terms of spiritually being able to see, and in terms of knowing his strategies and schemes, so he can’t ever fool us.
There is a piercing truth that everyone needs to understand today, and it’s going to SET YOU FREE! There’s a big deception of the devil coming off you today!
This word is called No Longer Slaves. Today you will no longer be a slave to the devil, to the devil’s lies and deceptions! It’s a word to reveal specific strategies of the devil for people who have been delivered. If you have received deliverance, and if you need deliverance, this word is very important for you to read carefully. Reread this word after and take notes.
Do you think the devil is happy when he loses, and the years of bondage he has kept you in captivity are gone? He is not happy one bit. He wants revenge. That is why it says when one demon goes, he really wants to come back and bring back other demons (Matthew 12:43-45). The devil wants revenge; he does not just sit by idly once someone is delivered! The devil is the father of lies (John 8:44), meaning he is the greatest artist and master of lies, the greatest deceiving one. The Bible says we are in a spiritual war, not a war of flesh and blood, but a spiritual war (Ephesians 6:12). Every day! The way the war takes place is by the devil trying to lie to you. Where do lies enter? In the mind: you hear and believe them in your mind.
When a person is delivered, one of the biggest strategies of the devil to keep you from walking in freedom and abundant life—for God to get the glory, and for you to walk in the purpose that God created for you and enjoy abundant life with Jesus— is to creep back with lies. He doesn’t come back inside of you because the demons are out, but we are all in a spiritual war, every single one of us. Those who have been freed and those who are not free yet, we are ALL in that war and we will ALL have to have victory over the devil’s lies. We will all face that battle of lies every day.
So the devil comes with a strategic, specific lie when you have already been delivered, saying this lie: “You are not fully delivered. You still need deliverance. You are still in bondage.”
Now, for many people deliverance is a process; it happens in layers. The biggest reason that deliverance is not immediate for some but happens layer by layer, is usually when a person has opened up doors specifically to witchcraft and demonic powers.
This is where we need to know how tricky the devil is. Because some of you may see people who are getting layers of deliverance and the devil can use that and say, “See, just like other people who are still in the process of receiving deliverance, you still need more deliverance!” The devil is speaking this to some of you! But the truth is that you have been freed! You have been delivered already! There are no more demons inside of you, but you are still in a war! The war never ends, but it does get easier!
Truthfully, the war has become simple for me! It’s not like, “I’m in a war every day with all these lies!” As you seek God and surrender more, you become transformed into His image in your mind. You are quick to pick up the lies of the devil and you are quick to reject them! The Bible says, Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Resist the devil and he WILL flee from you. It’s a principle; he must!
When you still need freedom and haven’t come to where the anointing is, that might not be the case. You are trying to reject the devil, but the yoke is still there because the anointing is what destroys the yoke (Isaiah 10:27). But when you are FREE, you resist the devil and he HAS TO FLEE FROM YOU! You reject his lies and he has to flee from you! I have been amazed to see that there is nothing greater than walking with God! The peace and joy is real. I have noticed how the devil can’t even lie to me anymore.
In the spiritual realm we are like giant warriors, and the devil is so tiny. We have the massive sword of the Spirit! Imagine that compared to the ant-sized devil—it’s a joke! This is who we are!
But many times we don’t have that revelation, so we see ourselves as smaller than the ant-sized devil and we see the devil as huge because we believe his lies, “I am big and mighty, more powerful than you, and I will keep you in bondage.” But the truth is that we are the ones who are so much bigger and more powerful through Christ than the devil, and he is under our feet! As you grow in the Lord and keep seeking Him and surrendering to Him, you become transformed into His image, and with that comes spiritual eyesight, discernment, and being so quick to see the devil trying to lie. It just becomes laughable.
Before when you would hear the devil lie, you would believe it, and maybe a week later—after a friend gave you spiritual advice or you listened to a sermon—you realized you were believing a lie, but you had already gone into depression and let it affect you. That was your life before: a heavy and hard battle. Lies would come and they would weigh you down, and eventually you would recognize, “Oh yeah, that’s a lie. OK, I reject it.” Maybe it feels heavy like that at first, but as you keep seeking God and are transformed into His image, YOU SEE WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST! And the devil stops lying. This is what I’ve found—it’s like he knows he is wasting his time!
The devil can lie to me in different ways, like sending people to say bad things about me. But it’s laughable! Maybe if I wasn’t strong enough in Christ I would take it to heart and be like, “Is it true what they said?” And then it would be a heavy battle. But when you are really in the truth, when you have been transformed more in your mind to be like Jesus, that is not the case.
I’ve rejected the devil so many times in certain ways that he doesn’t come in those ways anymore. So he can try to come in new ways in the new level that I’m in, speaking mean things about me through people on social media for example, or “Judases” come, they betray, and that can be hurtful, but God has made me strong, so they’re all laughable! “Whatever! I have the victory through Jesus!” That’s how it becomes. It’s so sweet to give your life to Jesus!
It’s fun to serve God; it’s not so heavy! I know it feels like that at first—this is what I’m teaching you today—that when you are first delivered, the devil is not happy and he’s trying hard to lie!
There’s a progression to walking as that massive warrior, seeing yourself for who you are and that the devil is under your foot completely. There is a process until you’re living in that truth, until the devil sees he can’t mess with you because you know his lies. It’s a process!
I’m teaching you this process, and for some of you this is the beginning of that process. When you are delivered, for many of you, the devil will come with these loud voices saying, “You are not delivered! You need more deliverance!” He can even come as an angel of light speaking, “Yes, go and get more deliverance!” The war is in your mind!
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
In this Scripture, we see the word “hearing” twice. You can hear, and you can listen. I hear music that is playing right now beside me, I hear motorcycles right now passing by me, but I’m not listening to them! So the second “hearing” is listening.
Some people can come to church and not feel like listening. Maybe somebody dragged you there, and you’re hearing this lady preaching out of the microphone—but you’re not listening. Maybe you’re hearing the words, but you’re listening to the distracting sounds around you.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing and actively choosing to listen to the Word of God!
The opposite is also true. This Bible verse is talking about faith in Jesus that comes with hearing the Word of God. But also, you can listen to other voices and start to believe those voices, and that can be REAL FAITH in those voices that are not God, but lies of the devil. It can be real faith—not faith in the truth, but faith in the lies.
This is what the devil wants! He wants you to hear and LISTEN to his lies so they become your truth. The Bible says, as a man thinks, so he is (Proverbs 23:7). This is the Bible, and that is a powerful statement! As a man or woman thinks—whatever they think—that is what they will be; that will be their reality. This means that what you are thinking and believing is very important. You can believe what God has said about you, the truth, or you can believe the devil’s lies and become what the devil is lying to you about!
Proverbs 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
So you need to understand this: the devil tries to do this to every person. Just because the devil is speaking lies in your mind and you are believing the lies, that does not mean that you automatically get a demon! For as a man thinks, so he is doesn’t mean that if you are believing lies, you become possessed.
There are many of you who are completely free, but you are in bondage in your mind. You are believing lies every day, but you don’t have demons inside, for you are no longer a slave! The Bible says, You are no longer a slave (Galatians 4:7). You are no longer a slave to fear, to the devil, or to his lies! You are FREE now!
I have an example for you. There are two men in this example: Shane and Leo. Shane represents someone who has demons and needs deliverance, and Leo represents the devil lying. Shane sits beneath a tree with chains wrapped tightly around his hands; this represents that he has demons and needs deliverance.
Now, let’s say Shane comes to Five-Fold Church, where by the grace of God the anointing is here to destroy every yoke! Hallelujah! Without strife or struggle, but with ease; the anointing is powerful and it destroys the yokes! So Shane has come with the keys to be free, he has surrendered his life to Jesus, he has come with faith believing that Jesus wants to free him and that He will free him as he positions himself where the anointing is. Shane has renounced his old life, the lies of the devil and the bondage, and now he’s ready to be free. So he comes to Five-Fold Church and the anointing of God touches him as, for example, I command the demons to go, “I command every demon in him to leave now, in the name of Jesus.” And the chains fall off, he is set free!
Shane jumps up and rejoices, knowing Jesus has truly freed him! Then Leo, representing the lies of the devil, comes and shouts, “It’s a lie! You still need deliverance! You’re still in bondage!” He shouts loudly, again and again. Shane listens to the lies and walks back to the same tree where he once sat in bondage, he sits down in the same position as before. Only this time, there are no chains around his hands.
What happened? He was free. No chains (representing demons inside of him) went back around him at any point, but the devil came with his strategy to lie LOUDLY in Shane's ear and say, “You still need deliverance! You still have demons! You’re still in bondage!” The devil lied and lied, and spoke it again and again. The devil pointed out other areas in Shane's life and said, “That’s a demon, that’s a demon, and that’s a demon that you still need freedom from.” But those were actually just areas that needed to be transformed more into the image of God—areas that Shane was still growing in, but not actual demons. But Shane believed the devil’s loud, strategic lies. His faith that he had demons came by him hearing and listening to the devil, and that became his reality.
So the spot that Shane went back to, under the tree, represents the place where he was in bondage before. This is like the Israelites, who although God had freed them, wanted to go back to Egypt. The devil had tricked them by saying “Go back” in their minds.
After you’re set free, you then begin walking in abundant life, day by day, from glory to glory until you reach the promised land, and from there you’re just flying with Jesus! The moment Shane stood up and the chains fell off, he was free! But Shane turned back and went back to the place where he was in bondage. Notice that just because he believed those lies, he didn’t get a demon. Demons don’t always come back by you simply believing a lie.
This is part of the Christian walk, of constantly learning, “Oh, that’s a lie.” But Shane's hands even went back to the position of bondage, and he thought that the chains had come back around his hands. This became his reality because it’s what the devil had told him. Shane did not know this deception, this lie of the devil that I am teaching you today. The devil still has no power over him, but he is allowing the devil to have power over him. He is allowing the devil to make him think he still needs deliverance, that he has demons—but he is set free! He can get up right now, rejoice, and walk to the promised land, arms spread wide. There is no demon, no bondage holding him back from doing that. That is the truth of the situation. But this is the scheme of the devil, to lie, and get you to believe his lies. That’s his only trick.
So what are we to do then? How do we overcome this? How does Shane overcome this?
James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Remember, this is a principle: resist the devil, resist his lies, and he must flee from you!
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds, to demolish arguments. (To demolish arguments—this means lies, outward lies of the devil, not demons inside! We can demolish these arguments, these lies!) and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Some of you need to go back to when God delivered you. Maybe it was the first time you came, or maybe you needed three or four layers of deliverance. Maybe the fourth time you knew deep in your heart you were completely free. You need to go back to that day, because the devil has lied to you after that day. You were set free that day, but a day or a week passed, and the devil came with this strategy to scream very loudly in your ear, “You’re not fully free yet.” And you came to believe that this was true.
There is something else I want to share about how much the devil can lie. As a man thinks, so he is (Proverbs 23:7). Can we take a moment to realize how powerful that is? That is the Word of God. As a man thinks, so he is. The devil can control you in your mind so much—not demons inside—but if you believe the lies, the devil can control you to do anything, if you believe the lies.
Think about this. If you go out to meet people in public or in a restaurant, and someone with a unique personality or charisma just comes up to you and says, “Hey, raise your hand right now!” or, “Hey, give me a big high five!” or, “Hey, clap your hands!” If they come really enthusiastically and say that to you, most of us would probably do it. Our first thought might be, “OK!” Not many of us would think, “Wait, who is this person? Is this person trying to manipulate me? This is weird. I don’t want to just obey anybody.” Most of us wouldn’t think that!
I say this because the devil can do the same. The devil can speak anything he wants to you in your mind, and if you don’t know this truth I’m sharing with you today—if you don’t have this discernment—you can think it’s God or just the truth, and not realize it’s actually the devil lying.
So there can even be what look like demonic manifestations that are not really demons. But because a person has been so used to being in that position, for example of screaming, then the demons can speak to a person loudly, again and again, “Scream!” And the person doesn’t even realize they’re lies, but they believe it’s involuntary and that the demons are making them scream. The devil can speak these lies so strongly.
It’s kind of like if you walk with a limp. I remember that I had limp at times when I played soccer and I had twisted my ankle. And sometimes I would get so used to it that I would forget to check, “Am I healed yet?” Because it really hurts when you put your full weight on it, so you just limp out of habit, and then you notice “Oh wait, it doesn’t hurt anymore! I’m healed!”
That’s what it’s like in terms of thinking you still need freedom, also in terms of manifestations. If you’re so used to a certain manifestation, the devil can speak so loudly and your mind can be so powerful to believe that it overtakes your body. Because when a demon is inside, a person can’t control it—the demon is possessing the body. But as a man or woman thinks, so is he or she. As a man or woman thinks demons are manifesting, they will begin to look like they’re manifesting.
Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
How do we have victory over the devil’s lies so that they are not so loud that we just give in? How do we have victory? It’s simple: submit to God, to His truth, to this rhema word of truth you’re reading right now! SUBMIT to it. Submit to the truth that the devil’s a liar! “I’m not gonna let him lie to me! I’m submitting to the truth of God!”
Submit to the truth that you have victory over the devil through Christ! Some of you need to go back to the day when you knew you were completely free, because some of you have forgotten, or the devil has told you, “Oh, you thought you were free, but you weren’t really.”
Just like the Israelites needed to go back to the day where God freed them and they were so overjoyed saying, “God is good, He is faithful, He has freed me!” Instead of completely forgetting everything, and not even saying, “God freed me! Thank you Lord!”
The Israelites were so convinced by the devil’s lies that they should return to their bondage. Some of you need to remember that moment when you knew you were free. Remind yourself of that and walk in that! Submit to God and to His truth. Submit to the moment he freed you; that was truth! Thank God for freeing you! Go back to that place of truth!
RESIST the devil, resist his lies! How do you resist his lies? Get the Word of God in you. Come to church, hear the Word of God, including the rhema word. Get that word of God in you so that when the lies come, you can bring that word to the forefront of your mind, meditate on it, and say, “Now wait a minute. What is the truth here? This is what God has said. I recognize this is a lie of the devil!” You’re already beginning to resist in your mind when you do that.
Then the final important action of resisting the devil is to speak, to reject with your words. As the Bible says, the power of life and death are in your tongue (Proverbs 18:21). This is where the devil LOSES—when you use your TONGUE. This is where all the lies have to go away and he has no power! It’s when you keep quiet that he wins.
So when the devil begins to tell you, “You’re not fully free, you still need deliverance, you still have demons inside of you, and it’s going to be a long time till you’re free,” you need to tell him to shut up. He’s a liar! And confess, “I reject every lie of the devil. I AM FREE! I am delivered! Jesus has set me FREE!” It says in the Bible, By his stripes you ARE healed (Isaiah 53:5). You ARE free! Declare it! Even when you’re in the process of getting layers of deliverance and maybe you still do have demons—still declare, “I am free!” Because it says, “By his stripes you are healed.” not, “You will be healed.” It says, “By his stripes you are healed.” Meaning, “This is mine! As I declare it, submit to God, and surrender to God, I will see it manifest fully! I am healed! I am delivered!”
Every one of you should be declaring these words over your life constantly: “I am free! I am healed!”
But especially for those of you to whom the devil has been speaking, “You’re not completely free yet, you’re still in bondage”—you need to confess these words thousands of times! “I AM FREE! I am delivered! Jesus has freed me! Devil, you’re a liar! I thank You Jesus for freeing me. I will testify that I am free!”
When you do that, you will see the devil and his lies LEAVE you one by one! Before, the lies were strong every day, “Oh, I still need deliverance. When is this going to happen?” But now you start confessing, and the lies start dwindling; they become less. You keep confessing thousands of times, “I am free!” and they dwindle more. This is a principle: resist the devil, and he MUST flee! The lies will leave!
The battle is easy for me now, because I’ve resisted the devil so many times, and he cannot come back! He knows he can’t fool me! It will be like that for you if you can start confessing the truth, “I am free!” Some of you who are already free have physical manifestations in certain areas of your life that you believe are from demons, but as you start confessing the truth, those manifestations will disappear! Because it wasn’t a demon; you were freed, but the devil tricked you so much, and the lie, not a demon, had become so powerful that the physical ailments you thought were a demon felt real. But as you start believing the truth and confessing, they will go away! Because the devil has no power when you speak the truth, live in the truth, resist him and reject him!
Now let's look at the example of Shane and Leo again, but this time, Shane has heard the truth. He received this message just as you have today and the truth has set him free, so he will respond differently. This is what you are going to do today! Some of you are already free and you didn’t know it until now, and you’re going to see that you really are free as you apply this word!
Once again, Shane is sitting under the tree with chains around his hands, representing bondage and demonic oppression. He comes to where the anointing is and the anointing destroys the yoke. As I speak, “I command every demon to leave you now in the name of Jesus,” the chains are broken from Shane's hands, he jumps up and praises God that he is free! Leo now comes, representing the devil, speaking loudly again and again, “They’re lies, you still need deliverance!” But this time Shane says out loud, “I reject that lie! I AM FREE! Thank you Jesus for freeing me! I am free! I am free!”
This time Shane is so unbothered by the devil’s lies. The war is still there, but the devil is losing his power, he gets behind him, just like how the devil is under your feet. Shane doesn’t go back to the place of bondage where the devil could surround him with lies, but he walks forward, leaving the devil in the dust!
As you keep resisting the devil and KEEP walking forward, this is where the devil doesn’t even lie anymore—he can’t catch up to you! He is completely defeated! The lies the devil speaks to you are so laughable; he’s in the dust! Hallelujah!!
Are you ready to destroy Satan in your life today?! Every one of you is going to DESTROY Satan’s lies once and for all!! Thank You, Jesus!
