Firmly Planted
This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick, Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church in Los Angeles, CA, on August 9, 2024. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.
In this message you will learn about the spiritual principle of being planted. There are several different spiritual principles in the Word of God, but many people miss these principles, and therefore miss God. The Bible says, You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Many people are not seeking true revelation in the Word, so they remain stuck in religion and spiritually blind. A big part of seeking the Lord with all your heart is humbling yourself so that God can give you the grace to open your spiritual eyes.
Matthew 11:25
O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.
There are spiritual principles in the Word of God that many people are missing: the new wine. Jesus brought the new wine, and there were people worshipping the same God as Jesus—He wasn’t bringing a brand new religion—but the people were missing so much revelation of who God was, of their need for a Savior, and what God really intended for their lives. Jesus brought new wine that they were missing, the new way! He introduced Himself and God's love to them like never before.
Matthew 9:14
Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”
These people came with skepticism, thinking that Jesus and His disciples were going against the Word of God. But Jesus’ response to this question was, “You can’t put new wine in old wineskins” (Matthew 9:17). Meaning: “You have old wineskins. I’m bringing a new way of interpreting the Word of God, a fresh revelation. You think that is the way to fast, but actually, this is how to fast. This is My true meaning of My Word! But in order for you to receive My revelation about fasting, and everything else in the kingdom, you have to shed your old wineskin. You have to humble yourselves! Stop thinking that you know it all and understand the Word of God and what it means to be a child of God perfectly. Then I can teach you the real revelation from the Word of God and you’ll be able to receive it like a child, rather than fighting it.”
If you have old wineskin, you’re going to fight it. You’re going to think, “I don’t get it. That doesn’t make sense. How come I’ve never heard this before?” In Jesus’ time, most people were fasting a different way. And we see so many other examples: how Jesus prayed and ministered was different; He was doing it on the Sabbath and the Pharisees were not. There was always this conflict about many different principles in the Word of God.
I share this because the same thing is happening today. Instead of the body of Christ looking like it did in the Book of Acts and going glory to glory, in many ways it has reverted back to how it was before Jesus came. For example, it is rare to see demons cast out and the sick be healed in the church, even though that was one of the main parts of Jesus’ ministry and all the ministers in the Book of Acts.
Revival has come now. Jesus is bringing new wine once again to the people of today!
What I am teaching today about being planted is new wine. If you’ve come with old wineskin and want to hang on to it, you will not be able to receive this; the old wineskin will burst and you won’t be able to keep the new wine that was poured upon you. You will end up rejecting it.
So I encourage you to humble yourself and realize: “There are things I’m missing. My life and my ministry don’t look like the book of Acts. I’m missing new wine; I need more new wine revelation!” Everybody needs more new wine revelation!
There are different principles in the kingdom of God—ways that He has created and set up. For example, the principle of sowing and reaping. When we become children of God, we’re not supposed to live however we think is right, however way it is comfortable, or however the status quo is. We’re supposed to go by God’s principles and His ways, which are in His Word, but we need the Holy Spirit, the new wine revelation of the Word, to understand these principles.
One of the big principles every child of God must follow is to be planted. This means to be planted in a ministry that has been anointed by God, where God has anointed and appointed a servant of God and given them a vision and assignment for that ministry. God equips that leader and anoints them to be a shepherd. He gives them a special grace and a special anointing for this job. Then God calls His children to join this work of God to help complete this assignment, task, and vision.
God pours out different servants of God that are given different visions and assignments, and God calls His people specifically to go to a church and be there. God will call you to one place to be planted. He will not call any child of God to be in more than one place; that is not His principle. God’s principle is that you would be planted, and how you will be planted is that God will call you there. It’s having to do with your purpose on this earth; it’s not random. It’s very important that you go where God is calling you, and not where it’s comfortable, trendy, popular, where the music is the best, or where the social activities, comedy, or charisma are the best. You must go where God is calling you or you will not fulfill your purpose on this earth, because being planted is such an important part of fulfilling your purpose!
Now we are going to go into the Word of God and receive new wine revelation so you can see why this is truly a principle in the kingdom.
Psalm 1:3, AMP
And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water. Which yields its fruit in its season; its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].
God is speaking through this metaphor: if you ever try to uproot a tree several times, it will usually die. It will not grow and be prosperous; it must be planted in one place. As time passes, its roots go down deep and become strong, and this tree becomes firmly planted. When storms come, that tree stands strong; it doesn’t fall, become weak, or sway. It prospers because it’s connected to the source, the stream. The tree is staying by the stream always, constantly getting nutrients and the water it needs to continually prosper.
That’s how it is in the spiritual realm. When you uproot yourself and go here and there, to different places, you are not growing. You are not doing what is necessary to become strong. When a storm comes, watch out. Being planted is a safeguard for us to be strong when the storms come. It’s also a big way that we are able to prosper. A big part of accepting this spiritual principle is humbly knowing, “This is God’s way,” and not trying to figure it out completely. It’s a supernatural thing that takes place when you follow this principle of being planted.
1 Corinthians 4:15-17, AMP
“For even if you were to have ten thousand teachers [to guide you] in Christ, you would not have many fathers [who led you to Christ and assumed responsibility for you], for I became your father in Christ Jesus through the good news [of salvation]. So I urge you, be imitators of me, [just as a child imitates his father]. For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ [my conduct and my precepts for godly living], just as I teach everywhere in every church.”
This is the New Testament Church, the Acts Church. This shows us that the principle of being planted is really true. Paul is saying, “You have only one spiritual father.” Paul was a shepherd, the leader of a ministry anointed by God, with a vision and assignment from God. God then called people to come under Paul and help with this work of God. They became Paul’s spiritual children, and he was their spiritual father. Paul says, “You can have other people teach you, but you only have one father.”
If you are going from house to house every night, you are like an orphan or a foster child.
That is how it is in the spiritual realm. You need to know where your home is, and you need to stay there.
This Scripture is powerful: “Yet you would not have many fathers who led you to Christ and assumed responsibility for you.” In the physical realm, fathers and mothers have responsibility over their children. There is this parallel in the spiritual realm, where your spiritual father or mother has responsibility over you in the spiritual realm. This is what the Word of God says.
This is not taught much today because there is so much old wine. When people do not have new wine revelation, they come across Scriptures like this and pass by them because their eyes are blind and they cannot understand. This is the new wine you are receiving today, right in the Word!
If you choose not to be planted, you are making the choice to not to have a spiritual father or mother, which means there is no one in the spiritual realm having responsibility over you.
It is like this: a child inside the house is safe, protected, fed, and taken care of; he or she doesn’t have to worry about anything. But if that child unlocks the door, runs away, or simply walks out in the street, not wanting to go home; are they protected anymore? No. Anything can happen.
This is how it is in the spiritual realm when you choose not to be truly planted. It is dangerous in the spiritual realm!
This is a big reason why many people deal with so much demonic attack, staying stuck and oppressed. Many times it’s simply because they’re not following this principle of being planted. They simply need to get into the house where they are covered, where someone can assume spiritual responsibility over them. Part of this spiritual responsibility is the anointing.
What we are talking about are deep things in the spirit. For example, God has poured anointing in me for a purpose. It has nothing to do with me, but everything to do with God’s people, especially those God has chosen to come under this anointing.
This anointing that God has poured in me can plant seeds in many people and touch them, but the greatest assignment is for me to be an apostle, to be a shepherd over you, so that I would not just cast out demons by the power of God, but I would help you by God’s power to grow in the spirit so you can have victory over the enemy and maintain your freedom. And not just that, but that you wouldn’t just be a churchgoer sitting in the pew, who has demons cast out and now has their spiritual eyes open, but so you would be equipped so that you can be a powerful vessel of God, too, and you would receive impartation of anointing so the power of God can move through you.
The goal is to make disciples, not just to cast out demons and leave people be. That’s what we are called to do, and what God has called me to do.
This anointing God has entrusted to me serves not only to destroy yokes but also as a covering of protection over all my spiritual children. In the spiritual realm it’s like you are constantly walking in a safe house when you choose to truly be planted. It is like you are carrying Five-Fold Church everywhere you go!
When you come to Five Fold Church in person and watch online, I hope you feel as safe as ever, because this is where the devil is exposed and sent out. In all the ways the devil has been hiding and oppressing people, he must go; his time is up. He has been torturing people for decades, generations sometimes, but when people come here—because of the true anointing that is here, because of the true Jesus who is moving in power—the devil’s time is up! God is so effective, and the devil is no match for Him. That is God’s true power!
When you come here, you should feel the safest ever. It is a lie of the devil—old wine, spirit of fear—that demons are moving around trying to find someone else to enter when they are cast out. That is a lie of the devil. Demons come when people have open doors. People get demons by going to the club, by sleeping around, by watching pornography in their bedroom, by going to a witch doctor or psychic. Witches send demons where there are open doors; that’s how it works. They are agents of the devil, sending demons where they have authority, and they have authority where people give them access by opening up the door and going against God’s Word. That is how people get demons.
It is the opposite in the house of God. You should feel the safest ever in the house of God, where true anointing is. In the spiritual realm, when you choose to be planted where God’s power is and where He’s called you to be, when you leave this place, it’s like you’re still here at Five-Fold Church. It’s like you’re walking in a house everywhere you go. There is a covering over you! The same anointing that makes every kind of demon go—that same anointing is over you, protecting you!
That means witches or people can’t curse you. You do have to use your authority in Christ, fight the good fight of faith, and reject the devil’s lies. But as long as you do that, you are protected from attacks of the devil, witchcraft attacks, even getting in accidents. There are so many different things God is protecting you from when you have that covering!
This is a spiritual principle. So many people are struggling, wondering, “Why am I oppressed with demons? Why am I stuck? Why is this happening? I love Jesus. I’m praying to Jesus all the time.” You have to follow God’s ways. You have to follow God’s principles. Be planted: this is where you’ll find true protection. This is how Jesus protects you, through this principle.
Deuteronomy 14:22-25, AMP
Every year you shall certainly tithe [a tenth] of all the yield of your seed which is produced by your field. You shall eat the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock before the Lord your God in the place where He chooses to establish His name (Presence), so that you may learn to fear [and worship] the Lord your God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect] always. If the place where the Lord your God chooses to set His name (Presence) is a great distance from you, and you’re not able to carry your tithe because the Lord your God has blessed you [with such abundance], then you shall exchange your tithe for money and take the money in your hand and go to the place [of worship] which the Lord your God chooses.
Here we see that God will choose a place for you to worship Him. He will choose a specific ministry, a specific house of God for you to worship Him there. Sometimes it might be far from you, the Scripture even says. We have many people watching online who are planted at Five-Fold Church, from so many countries around the world: Africa, Europe, Australia, South America, Asia. This is because being planted is a spiritual principle, not a physical one.
If you can come in person, that’s the best. But if God has called you to be planted in a place that’s a far distance from you, you are receiving all the benefits, all of the protection, everything God needs you to receive from being planted.
That’s why it’s important for you to go where God is calling you to go, not the status quo traditional way. This is new wine I’m sharing with you. The status quo says it must be physically near you, but it’s more important that there is true anointing, that the place where you are planted is going to help you fulfill your purpose and you will truly be equipped. These things are spiritual, not physical.
How will you know where God is calling you to be planted? He will speak to you through the fruits. You shall know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). You shall know true servants of God and true ministries by their fruits. There are several ministries with fruits, so you must look to see where the fruits are. The fruits shouldn’t just be good preaching, it should be preaching that actually helps you, that feeds your spirit man, that opens your spiritual eyes, that equips you, where you become a stronger believer, more victorious over the devil, more mature, and closer to Jesus!
There should also be anointing there: healing and deliverance taking place. That’s how you know that there is anointing: when yokes are being destroyed (Isaiah 10:27). If you are planted in a place with no anointing, you are not receiving what you need, what God intended you to have. You need the power of God in your life to heal you, deliver you, equip you, open your spiritual eyes, and be released upon you so you can be a powerful vessel of God. It’s a must.
There are several ministries with anointing, not just one, so how do you know which God is calling you to? You need to come with a humble heart. Don’t listen to other voices, to Pharisees. Come with a humble heart, and God will speak to you. You may feel pulled, your spirit energized and excited. You may feel passionate about the word that’s coming forth and the work that’s being done there, passionate about the new wine, about people’s eyes being opened to be matured and see the deeper things in the spirit. You may feel excited about people being delivered and healed, receiving impartation and walking in the power of God. That’s a sign God is calling you there. When your spirit is coming alive, God is speaking to you through that. You’ll see the change in your life, too. That’s how you’ll know.
These are the things that happen when you are planted.
- You have protection in the spiritual realm from demonic attacks happening in your life. God is calling you to be where prophetic anointing is, meaning where God is speaking now. God is alive now, and He is speaking today, fresh words that you need for your life!
When you stay planted where God has called you to be planted, you will be receiving prophetic words you need for your life every week. Because the devil is up to different things, different schemes, and God knows it all! Maybe you’re struggling in a certain area. God knows, He brings a word, and you have victory because you receive that word, and you know how to have victory over the devil! You’re no longer blinded, stuck in confusion; you become free and victorious through the word!
Through the word, you are protected. A big way you receive protection is by the prophetic word coming forth, opening your eyes, directing you where to go, what to do to have victory and stay in God’s will.
- You are fed when you are planted. You are truly fed in the spirit. Your spirit man grows, and your flesh subsides by the anointed teaching that comes forth. Teaching without anointing does not feed your spirit man; it just produces emotions. But the anointing produces transformation.
Just as you need to be serious about the food you put in your physical body if you want to prosper the most and be healthy, it’s the same in the spirit. Lukewarm teaching is like candy and junk food. Old wine garbage is holding you back, bringing death and disease in the spiritual realm. Judgmental teaching and teaching without grace is poison. It just keeps the devil laughing. It keeps you stuck and blind. The devil sees, and he wins.
The food you’re taking in is so serious. Once you’ve heard from God that “This is where I’m calling you to be planted,” you have to surrender. You have to trust that “This food I’m getting today; I know I need it.” Don’t be skeptical, don’t be judgmental, don’t say, “Oh, I’ve heard this before.” God may need to give you more revelation, or He may need you to meditate on this word more for victory ahead because of the attack that’s coming. You just need to trust that the food you’re getting is going to be good for you.
Hebrews 13:17, NIV
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
The word of God actually instructs us to have confidence—that’s the opposite of being skeptical and judgmental. Have confidence in your leaders where God has truly called you to be planted. I am not saying have confidence in everybody, absolutely not, but where God has called you to be, in your true leaders.
- When you are planted, you are also equipped for your purpose. You are equipped through the teachings, your spirit is being fed, your eyes being opened to understand more of the spiritual realm and God’s Kingdom. You also receive impartation of anointing. It is God’s will for all of you to carry Him in His fullness: His power. The main way He does this is through impartation, especially in the season we are in right now in the spiritual realm. Anointing is not coming to people randomly like it did with Elijah or Moses, with no vessel. The biggest way God is releasing His anointing right now is through impartation, from one vessel to another. Not just from any vessel, but from true spiritual fathers and mothers pouring the anointing, releasing their mantles to their spiritual children.
With Elisha receiving the mantle from Elijah, we see this same principle of being planted. Elisha served Elijah and stayed with him, Elisha was even tested several times when Elijah said: “Stay here while I go over there,” and each time, Elisha responded, “No, I will never leave you.” This happened three times (2 Kings 2:2-6). Elisha was showing this principle of being planted, of staying in one place. This is one of the biggest keys of why Elisha received the anointing from Elijah, because he wasn’t living in a “buffet culture” of receiving spiritual food and equipping, but he was staying in one place.
You cannot fool God. He sees everything. He sees when you disobey Him and are not fully planted, so the anointing is not going to come in your life! You cannot lie to God.
We also see this same principle of being planted with Moses and Joshua. Joshua walked in miracles and received anointing from Moses as he was faithful to be planted under Moses. When you can stay in one place, God sees that you are trustworthy. This is how you’ll grow strong and you won’t be confused with other teachings. But you’ll receive the simple truth you need so you can actually grow. Then you’re ready to be a powerful vessel of God. Secondly, God can pour the anointing to you because you’re trustworthy, because God has tested you through this and has seen that you’ve remained obedient to His principle of being planted.
The Amplified version of this Scripture says:
Hebrews 13:17, AMP
Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them, recognizing their authority over you, for they are keeping watch over your souls and continually guarding your spiritual welfare as those who will give an account of their stewardship of you. Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you.
Do you know that we are in the Kingdom of God? We are not just random believers or random children of God. We have to remember that we are in a Kingdom of God. Many people don’t really think about what “kingdom” means. Here in America, we are not in a physical kingdom, so let me use a word that is very similar that you might understand: government. There is a Kingdom of God government. Meaning: God chooses to use vessels to release His power, do His works, to equip, guide, direct, and edify His children.
The leaders He anoints to do this are positions in the government of God’s Kingdom, with different levels of authority, responsibility, and power, all for God’s purposes. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are in different positions of authority.
Authority is biblical. To have spiritual leaders who are in authority over you in the spiritual realm is biblical. We have to stop being afraid of the word “authority” and giving in to the old wine ways and resisting authority. This is God’s principle. For example, God has entrusted me with anointing, He has put special grace upon me for your spiritual health, for you to be equipped, protected, and to receive impartation. God has given me authority in the spiritual realm. It’s my free will whether or not to teach what God wants me to every Sunday. It’s my free will to pray for a person. I could feel tired sometimes or not feel like it and not do it. So God gives us authority, free will, He wants us to follow His will. This is how it’s supposed to be: that the anointed servants of God, in their free will—the authority God has given them—that they follow God’s will and do all that God wants.
When things are done right, when people are truly anointed by God, and they have pure, humble hearts, and are surrendered, their authority will be completely according to God’s will. So everything they teach and do for the people in the church is completely according to God’s will. How will you know if the leader is doing that? You will know them by their fruits!
We are in a new time right now: the end-time revival, where God is pouring out pure anointing and pure leadership, pure servants of God, just like in the Book of Acts. Peter and Paul were pure, humble, and surrendered. All of the apostles spent time with Jesus, and He equipped and anointed them. They weren’t perfect at first, but as they kept surrendering and obeying God, He matured them, equipped them, refined them, and transformed them to be more in His image. So then they could be totally trustworthy.
Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority. Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them, recognizing their authority over you (Hebrews 13:17). Paul is speaking about himself and all true servants of God; not the fake ones, the prideful ones, selfish ambition ones–the true ones!
This is the Word of God, this is God’s principle and God’s ways! The more we do things God’s ways, the more we will be in His will, the more we will find true abundant life, and the more we will walk in our true calling and purpose!
You can’t bypass God’s ways because they make you uncomfortable, offend you, mess with your old wine, or mess with your past church hurt. We still have to do things God’s way, no matter what, or we will be lacking so much!
I share this because this is new wine. This is the Word of God, but it is the kind of Word that is not taught often. Many people are afraid of submitting to authority, some for good reason because they’ve been abused by misuse of authority. But we have to leave the past in the past. You have to recognize the fruits and that it’s a new day. God is restoring His Acts Church, which includes restoring pure, humble, and surrendered leaders like Peter and Paul who can be trusted. You have to remind yourself of this, or else you will leave an open door to the enemy, where he will keep speaking words of fear, words from past misused authority—and you will be missing one of God’s huge principles that leads to your protection and your prospering in your purpose.
Hebrews 13:17, AMP
Obey your spiritual leaders and submit to them, recognizing their authority over you.
So what does their authority over you look like? What does it look like to submit to that authority? It’s very simple; it’s not complicated or scary. Being a true disciple, a student: taking to heart the teachings, instructions, and prophetic direction given in the church through the messages. And if you are serving in a greater capacity, it means taking to heart the directions that are given to be in God’s will, to serve Him adequately, to be in line with the vision —with the new wine—and not pulling in the old wine. That’s simply all it means to submit to that authority. The leader has been given authority in Christ to release the prophetic Word, direction, and new wine revelation. Simply, humbly, as a child, receive it! Receive the revelation, the Word, the direction, and the correction. Simply say, “Yes Lord, I receive!” And apply the Word. Don’t forget it; be a serious disciple, bring it to remembrance. Really apply it, and if there’s an action you have to do in the Word, take the action!
Like when I share with you: “We need to be more serious about sharing the good news.” You need to really be a disciple, and take it to heart! It’s for your good and for the good of the Kingdom that you do this!
That’s what submitting to the authority means. It also means having reverence for the house of God and the work of God. That means you’re not going out of order, doing things your own way, bringing in your vision, but you have reverence and respect. That’s how you submit to authority as well.
Hebrews 13:17, AMP
They are keeping watch over your souls.
I can’t just preach whatever I feel like preaching. I have to seek God and ask Him what Word He wants me to deliver to you. This is part of me keeping watch over your souls: to make sure you’re getting the Word you need to help, protect, and equip you.
Keeping watch over your souls means being a good shepherd. For example, if there are wolves around or if there’s a scheme of the enemy in the house of God, I have to be bold, strong, and not care what people think because I am watching over your souls, and you have to be protected.
Watching over your souls means I have to deny myself, surrender, and go live on social media to teach even when I don’t feel like it. It means ministering with all my heart even when I’m tired. This is part of keeping watch over your souls, of making sure you are getting everything you need in the spirit: all the food, equipping, and anointing. This is a real thing in the spiritual realm: spiritual leaders are guarding your spiritual welfare, and they will give an account for their stewardship of you.
Hebrews 13:17, AMP
Let them do this with joy and not with grief and groans, for this would be of no benefit to you.
Grief and groans have come when it’s not simple as it should be because of disobedience, lack of reverence, or selfish ambition making people do things their own way. You should be a blessing to where you’re receiving from. This is how you will be more blessed!
John 15:4-8, AMP
Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken off] branch, and withers and dies; and they gather such branches and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.
Following Jesus means following His ways, His principles, and His Word. So when you Obey your spiritual leaders, submit to their authority (Hebrews 13:17), it’s part of remaining in God and following God. God is the Word. The Word is not separate from God. Many people try to separate God from His Word because they don’t like some of the Word of God. But when you reject His Word, you reject God.
Apostle Paul says in the Word: you only have one spiritual father (1 Corinthians 4:15), and we see Elisha staying with Elijah and serving, being planted: these are God’s ways. So when we see this Scripture about remaining in God, part of remaining in Him is remaining planted, because that’s where God is releasing protection, equipping, spiritual food, and prophetic direction. This is how you are true disciples, and it is where you will bear much fruit!
The Dangers of Not Being Planted
In general, to be planted means that you make a covenant with God: “Lord, I know You are calling me here. I say yes. I will be planted here. I will remain here.” You can listen to other teachings, as Paul said, but you need to know where your spiritual father or mother is. It will not benefit you to listen to too many other teachings because there is enough food where you are, and it’s the most perfect kind of food according to your specific purpose.
Being planted is not about receiving interesting teaching about God and the spiritual realm. It’s about receiving exactly what you need, and sometimes it can feel so simple that there can be a temptation to get more spiritual food in other places, simply for entertainment. You don’t think it’s entertainment, but it really is, when you’re having that heart of disobedience to where you are planted and not trusting that the food you are receiving is what you need. So you think, “I want to learn about this, and this!” Angels and other things. But that can actually stunt your growth, because you’re not valuing what you truly need, even if it’s a word you’ve already heard before.
When you study for a test, you will get a perfect score when you meditate and study that specific subject. That is how it is where you are planted. God needs you to get the word in you deeply at the specific timing He releases it. It’s like God is building you brick by brick, perfectly, as He knows what to feed you where you are planted.
But when you go to different places according to how you feel, wanting spiritual entertainment or because you want to feel more spiritual and get more knowledge, you’re not being built well. It becomes a distraction, and it can even bring confusion.
Where God has called you to be planted is where you can trust. You might not be able to trust other places, so you should not haphazardly find what teachings that look interesting. We need to walk in more wisdom when it comes to receiving our spiritual food!
Above all, it has to do with the spiritual realm: when you follow this spiritual principle, you are safe, you grow. It may not make sense to you at first because you might think, “The more teaching I get, the better I will be!” But it does not work that way in the spiritual realm.
The danger of not being planted is not growing, and you can’t adequately fulfill your purpose when you are not growing and because you can’t be trusted. When you’re not following God’s principles, God sees. You can’t fool God. So you’re not going to receive the anointing you need to fulfill your purpose. God is not able to open the doors He wants to in the timing He wants to because you are going in circles through disobedience. You’re missing receiving impartation because you can’t fool God.
Another danger of not being planted is that you can become one who scatters.
Luke 11:23, NLT
Anyone who is not with Me opposes Me, and anyone who is not working with Me is actually working against Me.
Luke 11:23, NIV
Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters.
This Word can apply to the house of God. You have to be aligned with that work and be reverent, not disobedient. If you are disobedient to that work, you are one who scatters because you are listening to the angel of light and you’re pulling people from the important principle of being planted. You’re pulling people into the spiritual entertainment, into the spiritual buffet, as you share with them what you are doing for example.
What Is Holding You Back?
If you’re finding struggle with being planted, maybe you understand this is an important principle but you’re struggling to obey God and surrender in this area, it could be that you are not surrendering everything. We can’t choose which parts of the new wine we like and want to accept, we have to receive all of the new wine!
Many of us are coming from religion, old wine, from a time where there was not revival, so there will be conflicts. Many people get excited about revival, the crowds, deliverance, healing, and salvation. They are ready for and excitedly accept that part of the new wine. But then there are other parts of the new wine, these principles of being planted and of authority that many people don’t like or want to receive. They happily accept parts of the new wine and silently reject the other parts of the new wine. This is not true surrender to God.
I urge and encourage you to surrender everything. Really grab of the word I am sharing with you about God’s principles, about this principle of being planted. Receive it! It’s for your good!
Make the choice to surrender the old wine you have left. Make the choice to surrender your desire to do the spiritual buffet thing and the things that go against being planted, going with how you feel. Make the decision to surrender that to God! This is where you will prosper, by being obedient to the principle of being planted.
Colossians 2:20, TPT
For you were included in the death of Christ and have died with him to the religious system and powers of this world. Don’t retreat back to being bullied by the standards and opinions of religion.
You have died with Jesus to the religious system and powers of this world! Don’t retreat back to being bullied by the standards and opinions of religion, of old wine, of Pharisees who cannot recognize the new wine and the truth!
Colossians 2:21-23, TPT
For example, their strict requirements, “You can’t associate with that person!” (That person is too controversial!) or, “Don’t eat that!” or, “You can’t touch that!” These are the doctrines of men and corrupt customs that are worthless to help you spiritually. For though they may appear to possess the promise of wisdom in their submission to God through the deprivation of their physical bodies, it is actually nothing more than empty rules rooted in religious rituals!
This is what the old wine is, the areas where people are missing the new wine revelation. They are missing important principles in the kingdom such as being planted. They reject these new principles and they call it Christianity, but it is actually religion, old wine. Don’t go back to that! Stay fully in the new wine.
The old wine teachings are holding you back. So stop taking polls; most people are in the old wine. You’ve tasted the fruits, you’ve seen, received, and been transformed, so just be like a child; be humble. Sometimes you will not understand everything at first, but God will help you. You have tasted the fruit, just trust and receive the new!
The last reason many people are held back from being fully planted comes from their past, abuse, misuse of authority, church hurt. It has made people afraid to trust leadership, churches, and authority. Many people have been deceived before; they’ve been in cults and they didn’t realize it, so now the enemy tries to bring back their past when they are in the safe, new place that God has placed them. It’s time to be free of this if this is you.
I know it’s some of you reading this, because this is a scheme of the devil. You need to understand that the devil knows about the principle of being planted. He knows all that I’ve shared in this teaching. This means he will try hard to try to keep you from being planted, and the main way he will do that is by bringing fear. If you have been abused with misuse of authority, the enemy will try to bring up those memories, with fear and skepticism. You need to be aware of this scheme. You need to be aware of what is going on in your mind. Not all your thoughts are truth.
If you have dealt with a resistance to submitting to authority, if you have been abused by misuse of authority, if you have been deceived before, if you have been in a church where bad things were happening, if you have gone through church hurt, rejection in church by leadership, or if leaders have simply not been Christlike in some way toward you or the congregation—today is the day to be free of all the pain, trauma, abuse, and fear that have been trying to pull you back.
Today is the day to be real with yourself and with God. Recognize what has been holding you back. Surrender it all to Jesus and allow Him to free you.
This is going to be a great time of freedom from all of these things from the past. It’s time for freedom from everything that’s been holding you back! It’s time for you to step fully into the new wine.
Take a moment right now to speak with God. You may feel convicted by the word that came forth, so just surrender to God. Repent in the areas of disobedience, or in the areas where you realize you need to renounce: “This abuse, this fear, this pride has been holding me back.” Be honest with God right now. Speak to Him. Surrender.
I declare that every spirit that has come from abuse, church hurt, from misuse of authority, every kind of spirit of trauma must leave you now in Jesus’ name.
There are some of you who have been deceived before and you’ve carried a spirit of fear that you will be deceived again. You have to let this go; you have to trust that God has given you wisdom, that this will not happen again. Your eyes are opened up, and Jesus is your protector. You have to let go of protecting yourself, you have to make this decision, if this is you: let go of this idol of protecting yourself.
I declare that every spirit of fear must leave you now in Jesus’ name. All fear of being deceived must go. This voice of the devil coming in your mind bringing this fear must go in Jesus’ name.
I declare that every scheme of the angel of light must be exposed now. Every scheme that sounded spiritual but was trying to keep you from the new wine, from being fully planted, these voices must be exposed and leave now in Jesus’ name.
I declare that everything from your past that has been holding you back, every kind of pride, selfish ambition, must come out now in Jesus’ name. Be free from your past now in Jesus’ name.
I release this anointing upon you, that your mind will be refreshed and renewed in the spiritual realm. Every trace of the old-wine garbage from the past must be exposed and removed in Jesus’ name. May you be a true disciple. May you grow and be firmly planted. May your roots go down deep. May you prosper in every season. May nothing in your spiritual life wither. May you go from glory to glory. May you walk in your purpose and be a powerful, mature, anointed vessel of God. Every scheme of the devil trying to stop this must be destroyed now in Jesus’ name.
I declare all of these Pharisee voices that ring in your ear and mind must go out now in Jesus’ name. May you be humble like a child in Jesus’ name.
Thank You, Jesus. Hallelujah!
