The devil can‘t stop the work of God. 

So really what he is after is the heart. He wants the heart of the servant of God, of the child of God to lose its peace, its joy, to become bitter, offended, prideful, lose the energy, the motivation to serve God and be so distracted by the negative, the obstacles, the rejection, that your mind is full of these things. So that you are forgetting and losing the revelation of God’s love, of His faithfulness, of His goodness and of the fact that He is all powerful and He will make sure that your purpose is fulfilled. That’s what the enemy is after. 

He wants people of God to self-sabotage themselves, to believe his lies so that he can be in control and run them. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. So he is trying to steal, kill and destroy your purpose but not the way you think. Not by sending people to get in the way, to block you, to keep doors shut for you where they can’t be opened. That’s not how he is trying to stop you. He does those things to try to get you to self-sabotage yourself. 

The devil is not dumb. He absolutely knows that God can’t be defeated. And when God wants His servant, His child, to do something, to accomplish something, the devil knows that he can’t stop it. God will make sure it happens. 

The devil knows the only way it can be stopped is if you self-sabotage yourself, get in the way of yourself, give an ear to the enemy, believe his lies and stop believing and being pure in heart. That’s what he is after.
