Breaking the Power of the Past
This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick, Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church, in Los Angeles on March 15, 2026. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.
Today you’re going to be learning how to be free from your past. I’m going to be teaching you more on how to have victory over the devil every single day.
Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
One of the major things that happens at church, in an anointed church, through the Word and through the teachings, is that spiritual knowledge is revealed. Your spiritual eyes open up. In places you were spiritually blind, you’re no longer blind, and the devil is exposed. In ways that you were tricked by the enemy before because of spiritual blindness—because of knowledge you did not have about the spiritual realm—now the devil is exposed. That's the only way you can have victory. Your eyes have to be opened up to his schemes.
John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
The devil has many schemes, and you need to know all of them. When you know them, you can have victory, because you are in the truth and you’re not fooled anymore. When the devil tries to do something, you can see, “This is the devil. I’m not falling for it. I reject you, devil.” The Bible says, “When you resist the devil, he must flee” (James 4:7). That’s how you have victory. So it’s time for more victory today, for more equipping to have victory over the devil, with this spiritual knowledge released.
Most of you may be dealing with an attack of the enemy where you have thoughts about your past: flashbacks about your past, about the sins of your past, the ways you fell into temptation in the past, and fleshly actions of the past. These thoughts may just come sometimes—they may flood your mind when you’re not thinking about your past or about anything worldly or fleshly or sinful. Sometimes it can be when you’re thinking about God or when you’re listening to the teachings. You can be reading the Bible, and all of a sudden these disgusting, evil, dark, sinful thoughts come in your mind. That is the devil. You can know that when you don’t want a thought, it is not your thought, and it’s not God. We all have opinions, we all have desires, so you can have your own original thoughts. But you can know that when there’s a thought in your mind that you don't want, it’s not your original thought—therefore it’s not you and it’s not God. You can know it’s the devil.
It’s very important for you to receive this spiritual knowledge, because if you don't know that it’s the devil, the devil’s got you. He wants you to think this is your thought—because when you think it’s your thought, you will condemn yourself and feel so much shame. And when you do that, it pushes you away from God and from growing. Or you will accept it rather than reject it, and then you will give that thought power. Then it becomes this big temptation that it wasn’t originally when it came as a thought. But because you haven’t rejected it, and that's the action of accepting it, and when you accept that thought that you originally didn't want, now it makes your flesh to arise. It invites the enemy to send more of those similar thoughts. And so it turns into a temptation.
What enemy is after, with this scheme of sending these thoughts about your sins of the past, is to try to get you to condemn yourself. You need to know how dangerous condemnation is. Condemnation at first it can feel like sorrowful repentance, but it's not. Condemnation can cause you to be a victim, to be offended and defensive. Condemnation causes you to not see God rightly, like how Adam and Eve were hiding themselves, forgetting that God was full of love for them. Condemnation makes you see God wrongly, and that’s the most dangerous thing ever. Because it is by receiving His love that we come close to Him, and this is how we become transformed. If we don't see Him rightly, we can’t receive His love. When we see Him wrongly, when we don’t see His love, like Adam and Eve saw Him with shame, we go further from God rather than towards Him. But going towards Him and inviting Him in to help you is the only way you can overcome the devil, and it’s the only way you can transform.
The enemy sends these thoughts from your past because he wants you to condemn yourself. He’s hoping that you won’t be alert to know, “This is the devil. That’s not me anymore.” He’s hoping this thought will come and you will instantly feel bad and then give in to condemnation. The enemy is also trying to get you to stay stuck and not move forward. He wants you to be thinking about your past rather than focusing on growing, on serving Jesus, and on the love of Jesus, because that's where the transformation comes. The enemy also wants to distract you, so that when you have this opportunity to grow, to hear the word, instead you're distracted and not growing.
I share this with you so that you can know the truth and be set free. That is why you find those thoughts of your past coming. It’s time to fight the good fight of faith: warrior mode. You become fierce for Jesus, “No, devil. Get behind me, Satan! I see what you’re trying to do. No! I’m strong in the Lord. Get behind me!”
If there was a certain area in your past where a sin was the strongest, for example sexual impurity—if that was a big area where you were acting in the flesh before you knew Jesus—then the enemy is going to specifically send those thoughts now. It doesn’t even have to be about you committing impure sexual acts of the past. He can just randomly send perverted impure sexual thoughts in your mind, out of nowhere. If it’s somebody who used to steal things, then the enemy can bring thoughts about stealing things. If a person did drugs in the past, the enemy can bring thoughts of drugs. The enemy does this because he knows your past; he knows your weaknesses. He knows these were your weaknesses in the past, so he’s hoping that he can tempt you again, because he was able to tempt you in the past. If that’s you, you can know that’s why this is happening. “But greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). The devil can hope, but he’s defeated if you are serious about fighting the good fight of faith and applying the principles that you learn in the Word of God and in the spoken word of God, in these teachings, to overcome the devil.
This is what the devil did to Jesus when he tried to tempt him in the wilderness. Jesus hadn’t sinned in the past, but when He was led by the Holy Spirit in the wilderness, the devil went after Jesus’ weakness. We see Jesus’ weakness from not eating for forty days: he was hungry. If any of us don’t eat for many days, that’s going to be a weakness. And Jesus was 100 percent God and 100 percent human, so that was a weakness for him. He would have felt so hungry, and that was painful.
Matthew 4:1-4
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
The devil is strategic. This is why he tried to tempt Jesus the way he did. He looked at His weakness and thought, “This is my best chance.” Jesus came so humbly to this earth; He humbled himself to become man. He humbled himself to really play the part of man, to be human. At age 10 or 15 or 20 or 25, he could have been playing God, but He was being a man. He could have been doing miracles, because He was fully God. So Jesus was really humbling himself, just like how we humble ourselves in ways that don’t feel fair sometimes, like when we’re going through unjust things or persecution. It doesn’t feel fair sometimes, but this is how we become transformed, by humbling ourselves in this way when we go through things that we don’t deserve—when we lay down our ego, when we lay down our whole lives for Jesus, when we lay down our desires for Jesus.
Jesus demonstrates something to us that is so powerful: even with all the power He had, He laid it down for the Father and for our example, to be just a man, to do nothing supernatural until the appointed time at age thirty. And when you’re in your twenties, that’s a long time! Those of you who are in your twenties probably understand that. When you’re older, you may think, “That’s not that long to wait.” But this was a sacrifice for Jesus. This was so humble. There was this calling that the Father was calling Jesus to do: to humble himself to be man. And then to go through all that He did. He was going through it as a man—all that persecution, all the suffering. He could have struck them down, immediately. He could have done what Peter was doing, slicing off the servant’s ear. He could have prevented them from arresting him. Before they scourged Him, he could have stopped them. But the Father was calling Him to humble himself to be man.
Jesus was 100 percent man and 100 God, so He went through temptations that He continually overcame because He was so pure. But they were still temptations, just like how you can be pure and have a good Godly desire, and it’s not God’s timing. Like maybe you want to be married and have children but it’s just not God’s time yet—it’s a truly pure desire, and the reason you have the desire is for such pure purposes. But God asked you to lay that down, and it’s a temptation, not in the sense that it’s like your flesh is high, but it is painful sometimes. That’s what I mean: you can be totally pure but still go through things that are difficult when you’re laying your life down for God. So it wasn't easy to do what Jesus did, to be 100 percent man and not be God in these different moments. We see how it was difficult: He was sweating blood because He knew what was to come. And He knew He could have used His powers to stop it, but He was sweating blood because He was so full of anguish. I’m sharing this for you to see how even the devil was going after His weaknesses.
Matthew 4:5-7
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
So the devil was trying to tempt Him by saying, “Use your Godly powers; you’re God.” But the Father wasn’t calling Jesus to use His Godly powers in this moment. The devil would have been really annoying, so there could have been this temptation for Jesus to say, “I’m God, I’ll show you.” So Jesus went through these things that weren’t easy. And when that didn’t work, the devil tried something else. He tried to tempt Jesus to skip ahead and just be fully God now and be famous.
Matthew 4:8-10
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
It is important for you to know this scheme of the devil, because if you don’t, you can think it’s you. You can think you’re the problem. You can think you’re fleshly. You can think that maybe you haven’t really transformed much from the past, that maybe you aren’t really a new creation. You could wrongly think this if you’re not aware of this scheme of the devil. He knows the strategy, and that’s why you may find that those thoughts correlate with the weakness of your past. It does not mean you are weak now. It means the devil is trying to trick you into thinking that you haven’t grown, that you’re the same you. But he’s a liar. You are a new creation and you have been transformed. The fact that you don’t want those thoughts should prove to you that it’s not you, not even 1 percent. This was the old you that is dead!
Don’t let the devil get you down. Don’t be discouraged. Don’t feel disgusting for having those thoughts. It’s the devil. He’s the disgusting one! Know who you are, because as a man or woman thinks, so is he or she (Proverbs 23:7). This is very important! When you start thinking, “This is me. I’m bad. I haven’t changed. I’m like the old me. I’m not as pure as everyone else here,” then you become that! As a man or woman thinks, so is he or she. What’s in your heart comes out of you. It comes out in your words, and your words shape your life. That’s why what I’m teaching is VERY important because the devil wants you to fall for this so he can push you backwards. We’re not going backwards, army of God! And we’re not staying in the same place either. We are moving forward, together, every one of us!
Do you know how powerful the Word of God is? I’m going to show you.
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word IS God. The Bible that you have and the app on your phone, that’s God! It’s not just made up of words God spoke—it IS God. When you’re looking at the Word, you’re looking at God. And the Word in the Bible is the logos word, which means the written word. And then there’s also the rhema word, which is the spoken word, the taught word. When you read the Bible, when you read the Book of Acts, you will find how important teachings are to God. You will see how important it is that believers are hearing and receiving teachings—not just any teachings, but teachings coming from the five-fold ministry: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. In the Book of Acts, it says, “The believers were continually devoting themselves to the teachings of the apostles (Acts 2:42). Why were they doing that? Because God instructed them to do it. To devote yourselves to the apostles’ teachings, to five-fold ministers’ teachings, is very important. When anointed servants of God teach, God moves through them to bring understanding to you. God moves through them to teach you the Word of God. You cannot have just the Bible; you need to be taught the Word of God. The Bible says that faith comes from hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). That means you cannot just read the Bible alone. You need to hear the word of God coming forth through anointed servants of God, because God graces them with a special anointing, a special grace, to understand deeper things in the spiritual realm, to understand the Word of God. He equips them with this special grace and then they feed the believers. They feed you. I feed you and then you become enlightened. Your eyes open up and now you understand the Word of God. Now when you read the Bible, you have this new understanding. When you read it on your own personal time, which you need to do daily, you have understanding. You have revelation you didn’t have before.
It’s not just in the Books of Acts that we see how important it is to receive anointed teachings and to continually devote yourself to anointed teachings. It’s all throughout the New Testament. It’s apostles teaching the disciples. That’s what the New Testament is. It’s full of teachings.
Paul was going to churches and teaching them about the Kingdom of God, about God’s ways. He was correcting them through the teachings, encouraging them, edifying them, exposing the devil, equipping them, and revealing God's heart.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Take that in. The Word of God is living! It’s alive! And active. That's powerful!
John 6:63
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
Jesus’ words are spirit and life. He was able to defeat the devil in the wilderness through the Word of God. He didn’t just say, “Stop it” or, “Shut up, devil.” He SPOKE the word of God and it made the devil shut up and flee. Why? Because the Word of God are not just words; they are spirit! They are life! They are powerful! Light overcomes darkness (John 1:5). The devil is darkness and death. Jesus is light and life. So the Word that comes forth is light and life—spirit overpowering the darkness! A lot of you do not realize how powerful the Word of God is—the superpower that it is for you, that you’re not taking advantage of. When you don’t have this revelation, sometimes you can read the Bible and be bored or just see words on a page. Or sometimes you listen to a teaching and you think, “It’s just a teaching” or, “I’ve heard this before” or, “I already knew this.” But you’re forgetting, “This is spiritual. This is supernatural.” When you read the Word of God, when you listen to these teachings, light is coming in you. Life is coming in you, and you become like Jesus. His heart was full of the Word of God. It was full of life. It was full of light. It was sharper than any two-edged sword. So when the devil came, Jesus just spoke the Word and sliced the devil with that sharp Word, full of life and light, sharper than any double-edged sword. Jesus gives us the example. He wasn’t just showing the devil, “I know the Word. You got this wrong.” It was supernatural what He was doing! This is how He was defeating the devil!
The Word of God is so powerful! It’s supernatural! It’s life! It’s a spirit! The Bible says the Word of God is a spirit! Just like the anointing is a spirit! Like electricity, invisible electricity, invisible fire! When people fall back with the power of God, when demons are evicted, when you see them manifest power of God, it’s invisible electricity, invisible fire. It’s spirit! A supernatural force is coming forth upon a person. That’s the Word of God. The Word of God is just as powerful as the anointing. They’re one. The anointing is God and the Word is God.
When Jesus defeated the devil in the wilderness, He did not have to go get the Word of God, the Torah. The Word wasn't in His pocket or on His phone or in the cloud or in a sermon that He still needed to finish. It was in His heart. His heart was filled with the Word of God. He knew it. That’s why we have to read the Bible daily. Because we need to fill our hearts, not sprinkle our hearts.
This is how you overcome this scheme of the devil to bombard your mind with impure thoughts connected to your past. This is the answer. It's simple. The ways of God are simple, but religion makes it complicated. Fill your heart with the Word of God. Are you filling yourself with the Word of God? Or are you sprinkling your heart? You need to fill your heart with the Bible, reading it daily. Not religiously, but led by the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t have to be a certain amount that you’re reading. What’s important is that it’s led by the Holy Spirit, that it’s steady. And when you read the Word of God, have the revelation that life and spirit are coming in you, filling your heart, preparing you to be victorious in the future when the enemy attacks.
In the times of Job, the devil came into heaven, in the presence of God and angels. He came uninvited, but he was allowed to come. And God first asked him, “Have you seen Job, my servant? He is the most righteous man.” God was proud of his servant Job. And then the devil said, “You blessed him so much, and I think that’s the only reason why he’s such a righteous man. Can I test him? Can I take some of his blessings away and see if he still worships you?” And God allowed him to, because God knew Job's heart. He knew he would have victory, and He knew that this would be a testimony that would help all of us in the future, of how we’re in this world and God sometimes allows the enemy to attack us when He intends it to be a refining fire, for our good. And then after, it’s not like things go back to normal. God rewards! God lifts after you go through that testing! So when we read the story of Job, we are encouraged. Our faith is lifted and we’re able to persevere. We’re able to overcome. We’re able to walk in our callings and be heroes of faith for others, for God’s glory, because of Job.
The devil came in the presence of God. Sometimes the devil comes in your mind at church or when you’re reading the Bible or when you’re listening to teachings online. Sometimes the devil will bring these thoughts, trying to distract you from the Word. He can bring impure thoughts out of nowhere because he doesn’t want you to receive the Word. He knows the power of the Word! He knows that this is how Jesus defeated him, because Jesus was filled with the Word in his heart. He doesn’t want your heart to be filled, so he can try to distract you during a message. He can try to speak to you, reminding you of your past, or he can speak other things. He can speak condemnation in the middle of the message. He can speak all sorts of things in the middle of the message or when you’re reading your Bible or when you're seeking God. That’s when he can try to come. That should be a sign of how powerful it is to listen to the Word of God, to read the Word of God, to listen to the teachings. But the good news is that you don’t have to allow the devil to keep distracting you like that. If you’re finding that when you’re seeking God, when you’re in the church, when you're reading the Bible, these impure thoughts come in your mind, one thing you need to keep in your heart is that the devil has already lost. You need to keep in your heart, “Greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world” (1John 4:4). You can’t let yourself forget that! How do you not forget that? By getting in the Word. Meditate on these Scriptures that you need in your heart, so that when the enemy comes in your mind like this, it should be so strong in your heart: Submit to God, resist the devil, and he must flee! (James 4:7). Fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). I am more than a conqueror. I have overwhelming victory in Christ! (Romans 8:37). Get behind me, Satan! (Matthew 16:23). You’ve been given dominion. You’ve been given authority on this earth. God says, “I have given you all power, all authority over every demonic power! No demonic power can hurt you. You will trample on scorpions and snakes (Luke 10:19). These are verses that need to be in your heart. And as soon as the devil comes, you need to speak them. Believe them. And speak what’s in your heart. That Word has to be in your heart.
Psalms 37:31
The law of his God is in his heart; Not one of his steps will slip.
The law of God is in where? It's in his heart. Not just stopping in the ears, but traveling down into the heart. And when it’s in your heart, not one of your steps will slip. You will have victory over the devil every single time.
Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Jesus is standing at the door of your heart and knocking. And if you hear His voice and want to let Him in and open the door, He will come in and be with you. But you need to know that the devil is also knocking. And if you give him the time of day, if you entertain his nonsense lies, it gives him access. It gives him authority to speak more and more impure things, often having to do with your past. It gives him that authority. That’s why you may see an increase in bombarding. It’s because he knocked and there was an entertaining of his lies. You have to be so diligent and sharp and quick to immediately reject the devil, to not meditate even one time on the thought he’s sending in your mind. And you do that by filling yourself with the Word of God. It makes you sharp.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
The more Word of God you get in your heart, then the moment the enemy comes, you have immediate discernment. It’s like when the devil tries to give you a dream and in the dream you are doing something really bad, really sinful, and it feels so real. You wake up and you may have a first thought of shame. That’s the aim of the enemy. But you certainly can’t control your dreams. That certainly wasn’t you. It was the devil. But the more you have the Word of God in your heart, you will wake up and realize, “The devil must be angry at what I’m doing for the Kingdom, for the glory of God. I reject that dream. I'm moving on with my day now, full of the joy of the Lord.”
That’s what happens when you have the Word of God in your heart. You immediately realize, “That’s the devil.” It doesn’t even get you down. That’s how it should be with the thoughts that come in your mind, and it will be that way when you get the Word of God more deeply in your heart. You will become more discerning instead of meditating on that thought and getting down and letting it ruin your whole day.
We don’t need to let the devil ever control us in any aspect. We don’t have to let him control our thoughts or our feelings. We have authority over him. That’s the truth.
Luke 8:12
Those beside the road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and takes the message [of God] away from their hearts, so that they will not believe [in Me as the Messiah] and be saved.
So the beginning of this verse is talking about how the Kingdom of God is like one who plants a seed. And some of the seeds are beside the road. They are people who have heard the Word and the teachings, but then the devil comes and takes the message of God away from their hearts so that they will not believe. Notice he takes it away from their hearts.
Luke 8:13-15
Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith]. The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, but as they go on their way they are suffocated with the anxieties and riches and pleasures of this life, and they bring no fruit to maturity. But as for that seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and noble heart, and hold on to it tightly, and bear fruit with patience.
God wants you to be like the last ones, for the seed to have good soil in your heart. These are the ones who have heard the Word and the teachings with a good and noble heart; they are valuing the teachings. Their heart is humble, ready to be corrected and to learn. They are not a know-it-all, but they are ready to learn, having the heart of a disciple. That’s the meaning of “good and noble heart.” It doesn’t mean, “This is a good person and this is a bad person.” It means this heart is teachable and humble. There can be good people with good hearts, but they’re new in Christ and so they’re not yet good disciples, for example. If right now, you are being convicted of not valuing the Word, it doesn’t mean you don’t have a good and noble heart. But it means that you need to choose to humble yourself to see the value of this Word and the teachings, and to be teachable.
So with a good and noble heart, a teachable heart, a heart that wants to learn, grow, and that bears fruit with patience, that means that you’re being a good disciple. You’re taking in the Word, but maybe you’re not seeing tons of change immediately. You have patience. You don’t give up on listening to the Word of God. You bear fruit with patience. You humble yourself to know you need these teachings, that these teachings are life. You humble yourself and think, “I need to read the Word. This is my life.” So maybe you read the Bible every day and you think, “I don’t know if this is really doing anything. I don’t feel anything crazy when I’m reading the Word.” You bear fruit with patience. You hear a teaching today and you’re convicted. You try to apply the Word and then you feel like you did the opposite of the message that day. You messed up from that Sunday. You don’t just give up. You don’t start condemning yourself. You bear the fruit later, in time, with patience. You trust the process. You don’t expect to ace all the tests without taking the time to study the material.
If you’re finding thoughts from the past that the enemy is bringing, impure thoughts in your mind, and you’re seeing it repeat constantly, it could be that you are being like the beginning of this Scripture:
Those beside the road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and takes the message [of God] away from their hearts, so that they will not believe [in Me as the Messiah] and be saved. Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith].
The first example are people who aren’t receiving the Word with so much joy. You know, you aren’t a Christian just because you come to church. There are many more steps you have to take besides coming to church and sitting and listening. You have to receive this word in your heart. And you have to value this word so much that you listen to this word again. You take notes. You meditate on it and you make the intention to apply the word, the teaching.
So in the first example, where the devil just easily snatches the seed, they are ones who don’t even receive the Word with joy, but they’re just doing their Christian duty and showing up to church and listening to the word. And then many times, maybe the devil is bombarding them with thoughts because he’s knocked and they’ve entertained him. And so he’s able to easily take the word, even though they listened to the message.
The second one are people who hear it with joy but it’s on rocky soil, and in times of testing, the devil is able to take the word. They are those who aren’t valuing the word enough. Maybe some of you didn’t have the revelation that I shared today of just how powerful the word is and how much you need it. So you didn't really value it. It’s so important that you don’t just go through the motions, but that you renew your mind every time you come to church, “I need this word! God is going to speak to me!” Because I’m a vessel of God. These aren’t my words. I definitely could not do this without God. This is God! The revelation, the teaching is God. So you need to renew your mind, “I’m coming to hear God speak to me a word that I desperately need, that I will need for the future, that in my time of testing I’m going to receive something that will be in my heart—the word in my heart that will defeat the devil in the future!”
It’s time to really evaluate yourself. Look at the Scripture. What does the soil of your heart look like? It’s time to have a good and noble heart that clings to the word.
They heard the word of God with a good and noble heart and hold on to it tightly.
That has to do with valuing the word. Really seeing: “I need this! This is how I defeat the devil. And when I can defeat the devil with God’s grace and power, then I will walk in abundant life, peace and joy, and I’ll be walking in my calling, fulfilling my purpose, and I’ll be pleasing God, I’ll be in His will every day.”
If the enemy comes bombarding your mind with negative thoughts, with impure thoughts, thoughts about your past, and he does it a lot, maybe he does it every time you listen to the Word of God or to teachings or when you read the Bible, you can wrongly think, “I’m not cut out for this! This isn’t working! I keep trying to focus on God and this happens every time!” But that thought right there is from the enemy. He sent a temptation, a lie. Greater is He who is in you than He who is in the world! (1 John 4:4) Period! If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, this is your truth. You are not an exception! This is the truth!
You need to start being more firm with the devil. You need to start going more in warrior mode and getting serious in the spirit. And you need to listen to the teachings more, to be in the Word more, because as you do it, maybe the enemy might send thoughts, but when it’s really your intention to receive the word, the devil has to flee! This is a law in the spiritual realm. There’s no way around it. The devil has to flee! So it’s not time to give up. It's time to do more, to make more effort in this area and when you do that, that’s when the devil has to flee.
Let the Word of God transform your life! Let it! It’s time! It’s time to value this precious Word of God.
I encourage you: from now on, before you come to church, never get in a habit of going through the motions. That can happen when you’ve been in church for a long time. Renew your mind, “I’m coming to have a divine appointment with God today. I need this word of God today. This word of God is giving me victory over the devil.”
Start praising God for the word you are going to receive. Start praising Him in advance. Start thanking Him in advance. This helps your heart be prepared, to be good soil and already is closing the doors firmly to the devil, because you are doing the opposite of responding to his knocking on the door.
It’s time to be victorious over the devil completely! It’s time! You are victorious warriors of God! You are strong! You are bold! You are a warrior in God’s revival army! You are a chosen warrior in God’s revival army! That is who you are! You’re not a lukewarm Christian. I’m speaking this over you. You’re not a wimpy Christian. You’re not a defeated Christian. You’re not a careless Christian. You are a chosen beloved son or daughter of God, a warrior in God’s revival army! That is who you are!
The devil is under your feet! He’s defeated! He’s a loser! Devil, you’re a loser! And he will always lose! He will always lose in your life. I speak victory over you. I speak overwhelming victory over you. I speak that you are more than a conqueror, in Jesus’ name. The devil is afraid of you, and he should be, and he always will be! He will always see, “I can’t get them. I tried, but I can't get them! They have too much Jesus in them! They have too much of the word in their heart! They’re too anointed! They love God too much! I can’t get to them! I have to try somebody else, I can’t get to them!” The devil has to give up! He has to give up, because you are that great of a victor, champion of God.
To know God’s love is to have peace and joy. I speak that over you, that the devil could never take your peace or joy, because you know God’s love too much, because God’s love is stronger in your heart than every lie of the devil.
