Becoming a Better You, Part 2

prophetic words relationship with god sermon spiritual wisdom

This message was shared by Apostle Kathryn Krick, Lead Pastor/Apostle of 5F Church, in Los Angeles on February 1, 2026. To watch the full video, scroll to the bottom of this post. We pray this teaching blesses you and equips you to walk as a powerful vessel of God.

Last Sunday, I taught a message called Becoming a Better You, Part 1. Today I’m going to teach Part 2, on how you can become a better you—on how you can improve, become more excellent for Jesus, and grow and transform more into the person God has called you to be.

If you haven’t seen last Sunday's message, it’s very important you watch it. And if you’re new (and for those of you who aren’t new, this is a reminder), the Revival Army Training playlist has important, foundational messages for every revival warrior—for your eyes to be opened up to the new wine and what God is doing in this revival. These messages will help you to be free of the religious, old wine doctrine that has been in the church so strongly for so long. I encourage you to take these messages in as your spiritual food. Revisit them, meditate on them, and apply them in your life.

There are other YouTube playlists, like the New Believer playlist, that will teach you how to begin your journey following Jesus, the Relationship with God playlist that teaches you how to have a relationship with God, How to Be Free of Religion, and many more!

Genesis 19:17

Lot and his wife are leaving Sodom and Gomorrah as God is destroying Sodom and Gomorrah.

When they had brought them outside, one [of the angels] said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, or stop anywhere in the entire valley; escape to the mountains [of Moab], or you will be consumed and swept away.”

Genesis 19:26

But Lot’s wife, from behind him, [foolishly, longingly] looked [back toward Sodom in an act of disobedience], and she became a pillar of salt.

Lot’s wife died right there and became a pillar of salt because, in disobedience, she looked back after being told by God, by an angel, “Do not look back.” There is a powerful revelation in this Scripture: the importance of not looking back, and the danger it can be when you look back. We all have a past, and we all were once sinners—all of us. But now you are a new creation. God no longer sees you as a sinner; He sees you as a son or daughter. And He sees you as the righteousness of God, as pure. He doesn’t see you as a sinner. He doesn’t  see your past self or your past life. Last week I shared the importance of looking at your life and identifying where you need to grow, to change—where there has been stagnancy, where there are weaknesses that you know God is calling you to allow Him to turn into a strength and to give to Him.

For many of you, there are areas of stagnancy because there was a weakness. You tried to stop something or you tried to get better in something, and you kept failing. Some of you tried many times to grow in an area, to stop doing something or to stop being fleshly, and you have not seen progress or victory. But that is your past! That’s not today.

For some of you, there was a reason you were stuck before, and that reason is in the past. Some of you were in bondage; you were in chains by the devil, and you needed the anointing to destroy the yoke. That was the reason, but now you are free! So now you can change and grow when you could not before.

Others of you were believing lies that the enemy would bring you because he didn’t want you to change or grow. So your eyes were shut, and that is why you stayed stuck. But now God has opened up your eyes. Through many teachings and through His Word, your spiritual eyes have opened, and you’re no longer deceived by these lies.

Many of you don’t realize that if you would just try and make the effort to change in an area, you’ll be amazed to see the results. You’ll find success! You’ll find that, for the first time, you will change and grow simply because your eyes have been opened up and you're not in chains of the devil or of his lies.

Some people have spiritual chains—demons, demonic oppression—and they need the anointing to destroy the yoke. Other people need anointed teachings to free them—not from demonic oppression, but from spiritual blindness. For many of you, your eyes have opened up and you have all these truths now; you have this wisdom to discern when the devil is lying and to reject him and walk in the truth. And that’s all you need to now grow in these certain areas. But some of you haven’t realized that you’re able to grow and change now because you’re a different person. Your eyes can see now. When the enemy tries to tempt you to give up or he tries to discourage you or condemn you or say, “You can’t do this,” you know how to spot his lies now. You think, “Ah, that’s the voice of condemnation. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). That is not true! That’s the devil! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That is the truth! (Philippians 4:13).”

For many of you, your eyes have been opened up to this truth: that you are anointed, that you are covered by the power of God, that your life is full of the power of God. Your life is dripping with the power of God; the power of God is in you; you are immersed in the anointing; the anointing’s inside of you; it's coming out of you; it’s upon you. The same power of God that rose Jesus Christ from the dead, that moved through Jesus and the apostles and that moves here today—to do all kinds of miracles, to cast out demons and heal all kinds of sickness, to do all these miracles, even raising the dead—that same power of God is upon your life, inside your life, and flowing through your life.

Sometimes you see the anointing manifest. It’s beautiful that God makes the anointing to manifest physically sometimes so that we can have more revelation: “This is so powerful! This anointing that’s in my life, that I’m receiving, is so powerful.” When you see people receiving on stage, that’s a picture of what you are receiving by being planted, by coming to church in person. Or if you can’t come in person because you’re far away, it’s a picture of what you’re receiving online—every time. The anointed teachings coming forth come inside of you. When words are declared over you—prayers for healing, prayers for freedom, declarations over your life of abundance, peace, joy, impartation—those are not just words. The anointing is moving upon those words and coming into your life. This is real.

You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. God is giving you supernatural strength by His anointing continually coming upon you when you are planted. For many of you, you were not planted in a church where God’s power is moving. You MUST be planted in a church where God’s power is moving for your life to be full of the anointing, of the power of God. That’s simply God’s principles. It’s biblical. God gave the church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11). He gave the five-fold ministry to the church to equip us. It says in the Book of Acts that the people were devoted to the teachings of the apostles (Acts 2:42). They were continually coming to the church. They were continually coming and devoting themselves to the teachings. That’s talking about the principle of being planted. And it was not just anywhere. It was where God’s power was moving through anointed vessels, five-fold ministers.

When you were not planted in a church where God’s power is, you were not receiving the power of God you needed to do those things that you couldn’t do, to get out of this place of stagnancy. But now the anointing is upon your life! God's power is giving you anything you need.

So you have to leave the past in the past. You have to know that you were a different person back then. You didn’t have the anointing; you didn’t have your eyes open—and for some of you, you didn’t have freedom. You are no longer in a spiritual prison. You have eyes that can see. You have wisdom. You have discernment. So now you can discern the devil's lies. Now you can walk in authority, reject the devil, and do anything.

Sometimes when it comes to making the intention to transform in an area, thoughts may come to your mind like, “I can’t do this. I don’t know if I’ll be able to do this because in the past, I couldn’t. In the past, I kept failing. In the past, I didn't have the strength.” That was the past! Stop looking at the past or else you will die spiritually—or at least you’ll stay stuck spiritually and you won’t understand why you’re not progressing. You’re being like Lot's wife and staying stuck and rigid, looking at the past. That is the past. Stop looking there. Look ahead. Keep your eyes focused on the truth: “I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. I can do anything. I’m a new person now. I am full of the anointing now.”

Some of you were in bondage. When you were in bondage, it made you sin, but you were sinning not because you were full of the flesh, but because you were in bondage! So don’t let the devil lie to you and say, “Oh, you aren’t strong enough to resist this.” You are free! And you desire to please Jesus, right? That’s the truth. Don't let the devil lie to you. Don’t let the devil put your past self who was in bondage on you now.

You’ve grown. Your heart has grown more in love with God. Some of you were way more of the flesh in the past, and you didn’t have such a heart for Jesus, to please Him. But now you’ve grown. Years have passed, and you have grown. Your heart has grown to be after God’s. That’s who you are now. So things will be different now. You are more spiritual now. You are! You really have changed. You are different now. You can do this now!

The things of the past will weigh you down. They are heavy. And that’s why you can’t move forward. You need to be serious about this. If the devil ever brings back your past in your mind, you need to immediately take these thoughts captive to Christ and reject them! You need to say, “I’m not that person anymore! That was in the past. I’m a new creation now. I am no longer a sinner. My heart is after God’s. I want to please Him. I am after His heart. That is me now!”

Part of leaving the past behind is identifying what was wrong thinking, what was holding you back from transforming, so that you’re not bringing the past with you and making the same mistakes and believing the same lies. You need to look at your past and identify, “Ah, that was a wrong pattern of thinking I had for years. And that was the reason I couldn’t get out of this. I couldn’t progress from this. That was why. I see now. And I know now, I have to be diligent to not go back to the past and repeat those bad habits, that wrong way of thinking.”

So ask yourself: What are the bad habits of the past that God is calling you to let go of? You have to do this reflection work. You have to go to God and allow Him to reveal where you went wrong in the past. What were these lies you were believing? What was really the root of why you were going in this cycle of never moving forward, of giving up and always failing? God will reveal these things to you because your eyes have opened up so much. If you have surrendered your life to God and you’ve been following God now for months or for years, you’ll already know the answer once you take time to reflect and go to God because He’s already opened up your eyes. He’ll show you, “This thing in the past, that was wrong thinking.” That was a lie you were believing. You know better now. So reflect: What have you tried to work on before in yourself, in your life, to get better in, but you ended up giving up? Ask yourself, what lies were you believing? For example, were you believing lies like, “This is too hard” or “This is too heavy”? What lies were you believing that you can now see because God has opened up your eyes?

Are you being religious? Are you carrying old wine into certain areas of your life, and that’s why you’re staying stuck? For many, the new wine has not infiltrated every aspect of your life yet. The Pharisees carried the doctrine, the way of life, of the old wine, which was to go by the law. There was so much performance, but they were not really being after God’s heart. They were trying to follow the law which had over six hundred different laws that they had to fulfill, and no one could fulfill them. And so because it’s impossible, then shame would come and they would shame themselves and shame others too.

In this cycle of performance, of tradition, of just checking off the checklist of laws rather than being after God’s heart, it’s so impossible that it’s heavy and it keeps you in a cycle of sin. And condemnation comes, shame comes, in this endless cycle, and then many times people feel distant from God and they feel bitter towards God because in their minds, they’re wrongly thinking that God is asking them to do something that’s impossible, that they can never live up to. They always fall short, and they don’t have revelation of God’s grace. So instead of coming closer to God and looking to God to receive help and His grace, the opposite happens. They go further from God, and that leads to pride, to more rigidness of the heart.

That’s a summary of religion. Today, the old wine has infiltrated the church so much, and that is the root of many issues of impurity in the church. It’s the root of the pride that we find in the church; it’s the root of condemnation, of people not really being after God’s heart and not knowing how to have a relationship with God.

In this revival, God has been restoring the new wine, which is the new way that Jesus brought. This new teaching and new doctrine was that God loves you so much that He sent His Son as a sacrifice for your life, and He wants you to simply receive Him as Lord. When you do, He sends the Helper, the Holy Spirit, to come into your life. And the Holy Spirit helps you to no longer sin, to no longer be in the flesh, and to become more spiritual. The Holy Spirit helps you to reject the flesh and the devil, and to do the things that please God. The Holy Spirit helps you to become more spiritual and even desire to live holy, and not desire the things of the flesh anymore. The fire of the Holy Spirit comes. When I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, all the desires of the world literally fell away—they were burned away by the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That’s how great a help the Holy Spirit is.

2 Corinthians 3:6

He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant (in other words, the new wine)—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

There was a curse upon the law, where people could never fulfill it because they were bound by sin. Jesus destroyed this curse. So, the letter, the law, would kill, but the spirit gives life. So now we have the Holy Spirit. Before Jesus came, they didn’t have the Holy Spirit to help. Now we have the Holy Spirit who gives us life, who gives us help, and who gives us a supernatural ability to do whatever God wants us to do. So now, following God, the Jesus way, is not supposed to be heavy. “My yoke is easy and my burden is light,” Jesus says. Following him is not supposed to be something heavy.

Yes, there are times that are more difficult than others. There may be tears sometimes because of persecution and because of the difficult things that come with being a disciple and following Jesus and picking up your cross. But it’s not an unbearably heavy task to follow Jesus. It’s never that way. Because you have the Holy Spirit to help you. Sometimes it’s harder than other times, but it’s doable. Whereas the religion way, the letter way, the old wine way, is not doable; it’s too heavy, and so it’s a constant life of heaviness. When you are a Christian that is living in the old wine way, following the letter that kills, it’s heavy every day. Trying to have a relationship with God is heavy. Whatever you try to do that you think God is asking you to do is heavy. But in the Jesus way, with the Holy Spirit helping you, it’s a life of peace and joy!

I love this testimony that the woman from Michigan shared earlier: “It feels like it’s Christmas every day.” For two years, she has felt this. One of the things about Christmas morning for children is this overflowing energy. They get up so early. With the Spirit, you have energy, you have joy, and you have peace every day to do God’s work. Sometimes you might not feel the joy as strongly, but the joy is there. Life with Jesus is beautiful; it’s joyful! Sometimes we need to have the right perspective. Sometimes we’re seeing things wrongly, not in the right lens of how they really are. Really, your life is beautiful. And anyone without the Holy Spirit—if they could have one day in your shoes on your worst day, they would consider that heaven on earth compared to the hell on earth they experience without the Holy Spirit in their lives.

So this is the new wine way, where the Holy Spirit is helping you and making everything doable. And it’s not just that—it’s heaven on earth. There’s peace and joy, there’s energy, there’s excitement in doing whatever God is asking you to do. So this new wine doctrine, the Jesus way, has to apply to your whole life, but some of you haven’t applied it to all areas of your life yet. God wants you to ask Him for help for all areas of your life. God wants to look to Him: “I need you, Holy Spirit. I’m not doing this on my own. You’re helping me. I can’t do anything without you. I need your strength, your supernatural power.” God wants us to invite Him and believe that He’s with us—to believe He’s given us the power to do each task.

So what old wine are you hanging on to? Some of you need to reflect and look at certain areas in your life where you’ve been stuck, and ask: Is there old wine there? Are you thinking in the old wine way? Are you thinking religiously?

Let me give you a personal example: I grew up in church; my earliest memory was at age four giving my life to Jesus. But I knew religion; I didn’t really know how to have a relationship with God. I didn’t have a revelation of the Holy Spirit in my life. When I hit my teens, my eyes started to open up to the fact that we’re supposed to have a relationship with God, and I started learning what it meant to have a relationship with God, but I still had a lot of old wine in me. I thought that reading the Bible and prayer were difficult religious tasks. When you feel like you have to do something, it feels heavy.

I had that old wine in me of, “You have to read the Bible. You have to pray. Did you read the Bible? Did you pray today?” So it made it heavy and not desirable at all. I had a relationship with God, but when it came to reading the Bible and praying, I had this wrong doctrine. So I was stuck in this area. I would talk about God all the time. I didn’t like to be by myself and I loved to be around people all the time, so I would just talk about God and I would think about God, but I wouldn’t read the Bible or pray, and it felt so heavy. It felt heavy to read the Bible and spend one-on-one personal time with God, for years. It became heavier to read the Bible and pray because I was flooded with condemnation and shame. I would hear that voice saying, “You haven’t read the Bible again! You haven’t spent time alone with God and prayed again!” And it just became heavier and heavier to where it felt impossible.

But the truth is, it’s not that hard to read a verse in the Bible. It’s not that hard to read a chapter. It’s not that hard to open up your mouth and say, “God, I love you. Thank you for my blessings. I don’t really know what to say. Not much happened today, and I have all I need. I just want to say thank you. I love you. That’s not hard, but I didn’t realize it because I was blinded. Praise God, He opened up my eyes once I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. And once my eyes opened up to the fact that God is real and His power is moving to heal and deliver, it opened up my eyes that: “God is not who I thought He was. He was never condemning me.” So the moment I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, it was the easiest thing in the world to read the Bible and talk with God. For the first time in my life, I wanted to spend time with God, instead of it feeling heavy and putting it off and always being around people.

Maybe that’s the area you have been so stagnant in—maybe you’ve really struggled to read the Word each day and talk with God each day. And the reason is simply that you were believing lies, the old wine lies. Now it’s time for your eyes to open to see that it really isn’t hard to read the Bible. It’s not hard to talk with God, and it’s actually enjoyable and beautiful. It should be the most desirable thing in your life. This is how you get closer to God, and how you know more of His heart. This is one of the ways you touch His heart. This is how you grow spiritually. So it’s actually nothing but desirable. This is the truth. There is nothing difficult, heavy, or burdensome about reading the Bible daily and talking with God.

I didn’t know talking with God could be so simple—that God wanted it to just be from the heart. In my mind, I thought I was supposed to say all these lofty prayers in a King James Version language. Whenever I saw people praying in public, it didn’t feel natural, and it made me not want to do it because it felt fake. I didn’t have this revelation that it’s really supposed to be simple; it’s supposed to be from your heart. God just wants to be your friend, your best friend, and Father. It’s as simple as that.

God is not lording over you, saying, “You need to spend time in prayer but with fancy words only for one hour and a half. I’m starting the stopwatch now.” That’s not God at all. That’s not how your friends are with you when you spend time with them, right? He’s the best friend there could ever be. It’s the same with reading the Word. There aren’t a certain amount of pages or chapters you’re supposed to read a day—it’s led by the Holy Spirit. It depends on the season you’re in, on the capacity you have in this season and on the business God has given you in this season. It depends on the day itself. But it’s important you’re at least making the intention, with whatever time you have, to at least spend a little bit of time in the Word. That’s what matters.

There’s no judgment from God like, “Have you done this specific thing for this specific time?” God wants you to spend time in His Word so you can get close to Him and know Him more. He wants it for your good, not just without reason. It feels heavy when you have that thinking, but when you know God wants you to read His Word because this is for your good, now you have the motivation to transform.

To become a better you, it’s very important that you have motivation. Identify what lies you’re believing that are holding you back from having motivation. God’s Spirit will give you motivation, energy, and excitement, but you need to see things clearly to receive that motivation from the Holy Spirit.

Two weeks ago, I was on my hike and I felt led by the Holy Spirit to record a video for you. It occurred to me that so many people are not exercising or taking care of their bodies because they’re believing a lie that it’s very difficult and heavy. As I was climbing up a really steep hill, I was recording and getting out of breath. But God was speaking to me about this. I played sports in high school and I was always an active person, but when I went to college, I didn’t play sports anymore, but I knew I was supposed to exercise. And so all I knew to do was go to the gym and get on the treadmill, but for me personally, it was boring. So I had this perspective that working out was so heavy. It was like, “You have to do it. You have to exercise.” I associated exercising with something heavy, and I didn’t want to do it.

When I moved to Los Angeles, I realized I needed to start exercising. I started with speed walking because I never liked to run. I walked and enjoyed nature, the sunshine, and spending time with God. This was after coming under the anointing and becoming a spiritual daughter of my spiritual father Prophet GeorDavie. In college, I didn’t have the anointing, but now, my eyes were opening up more, and I naturally had more joy. All of a sudden, I started to feel like jogging. I thought, “This is crazy.” That had never happened in my life. And ever since, I’ve been jogging on most days. When I go on hikes, I jog when it’s not uphill, and then I walk on the inclines. But I never stopped, ever since 2016 or 2017. I went from, “I never want to jog” to, “I like to do it! I look forward to it!” God opened my eyes, that heaviness went away, and I was able to receive motivation and the full truth of the Holy Spirit and the anointing. I have overflowing energy now, and it’s happening naturally.

Being healthy, exercising, and eating well are not supposed to be burdensome and heavy. It’s supposed to be easy, with the Holy Spirit. It’s part of becoming more spiritual. You become less fleshly, and you don’t even desire things that aren’t good for you. God was giving me this revelation that so many people have the perspective that exercising and eating well are horrible and heavy. And even some people that aren’t living in a healthy way see others that look fit and think, “Oh, they must hardly eat anything. They must not eat sugar and they must have a personal trainer, lift weights, and run five miles a day,” like you see the influencers do. But influencers are the extremes, and we don’t have to do the extremes. Many times God doesn’t want us to do the extremes, because many times extremes come from idolizing how one looks or wanting to find a passion and idolizing this passion. Many people don’t realize that it’s about living in moderation, as the Holy Spirit leads you, so we don’t go too far to an extreme that it becomes not godly. It’s about moderation, where you can just get out there and you don’t see getting exercise as, “Ugh, this is going to be so hard! I’m going to have to go for two hours. I’m not going to be able to move after this.” Just get out there—those of you who live in LA—and go for a walk for 30 minutes. Many times that’s all you need to do. And then you’ll find yourself different one day, like me, thinking, “I’ve got all this energy. I look better. I feel better. What happened?” You just followed the Holy Spirit, not doing anything crazy, drastic, or heavy, and the Holy Spirit gave you help, strength, and motivation.

The Holy Spirit was giving me revelation about this, because for some people that’s the area where God is calling you to be more excellent in: your health. The reason many of you have not grown in that area yet is not a matter of lack of discipline, but that’s what you thought. It’s actually that you’re living in religion in that area. You’re seeing it as heavy and impossible. And God is asking you to see that this change is not even drastic. If you can see rightly, it’s just like your relationship with God: you think you have to be spending three or four hours in prayer with these words that feel so unnatural, and you think you need to read the Bible for hours. But sometimes what God is asking is so simple; it’s not even hard. And that’s how it is for a healthy lifestyle as well. But many of you have been living in the wrong mindset. You need to apply the new wine to this area of your life.

Maybe you tend to procrastinate when doing a task—when you know you have to do something, just the fact that there’s a deadline and you know it’s important makes you feel heavy. Sometimes that’s making the bed or sometimes that’s cleaning, but you find out that it takes 30 seconds to make the bed. It takes two minutes to neaten up the counter. But in your mind these things take hours; they are worse than going to the gym; they are going to mess up your whole day, and you’re going to have to not be able to do this other thing that you want to do. But it’s a total of five minutes and you don’t break a sweat!

It’s that old wine mind you have to get out of in that area. You need to know that the devil doesn’t want you to grow. He is trying to keep you stuck in that old wine thinking somewhere in your life.

Proverbs 24:16

Though a righteous person falls seven times, he will get up, but the wicked will stumble into ruin.

Another area of old wine religious thinking that’s kept many of you stuck is that it’s been a pattern of thinking that it’s so heavy to do something, and so you don’t do it, and then you give up. And what happens after that is that you condemn yourself!

Condemnation is the opposite of motivation. You need motivation to do what God’s asking you to do! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, the Bible says (Romans 8:1). The Holy Spirit is actually giving you nothing but motivation, no condemnation! Don’t do to yourself what God isn’t doing to you. You are cutting off the motivation and help of the Holy Spirit when you start condemning yourself.

Though a righteous person falls seven times, he will get up.

As you are setting out to transform this year, God is not looking for perfectionism. If you end up making a mistake, get up! A righteous person falls down several times but then gets up. Why does a righteous person get up? Because God is cheering him or her on. God wants you to get back up. God doesn’t want to push you down and make you feel bad. No! God wants you to get back up! God is giving you the motivation to get back up. God is not disturbed that you fell down. Get back up! He’s saying, “You’re only human. Receive my grace. Keep going.”

Romans 8:31-34

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since He did not spare even His own son, but gave Him up for us all, won’t He also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us, whom God has chosen for His own? No one! For God Himself has given us right standing with Himself. Who then will condemn us? No one! For Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us and was sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.

If God is for you, who can ever be against you? This means that God is for you and Jesus is actually pleading for you, interceding for you, in other words, he’s cheering you on.

This is the year that God is calling you higher. This is the year that God is saying, “I want you to grow in this area. I want you to become better in this area.” And if He is asking you to do that, that means that it’s absolutely possible. That means that it will happen, if you can just believe that He will help you, and receive His help and be serious about obeying Him in this and making the intention and the necessary disciplines.

You have to recognize that condemning voice and know that it’s never God, and if you’re accepting it, it’s technically disobedience. You need to take it that seriously, because God has all these great plans for you; He has everything perfectly planned out for your life, like when He is going to pour out more anointing upon you and release more anointing for this specific task so that He can then open this door, so that He can then reach this person and these people through your life. He has such an intricate plan for your life! He’s like a coach, saying, “You’re going to do this. You’re going to transform in this area, and then once you’re transformed I can entrust you with more anointing. And then I can entrust you with more responsibility, and then I can open up more doors for you, and then I can pour out more blessings for you that come with this new level.” And it keeps going. God has this plan. Don’t mess with His plan!

God is seeing nothing but good of you. He’s not like, “Ugh! This is who I have to work with?!” No! If that’s what you think, then you don’t see yourself rightly.

It’s the opposite of that! He’s saying, “This is my beloved son or daughter that I’ve chosen. Their heart is gold. Their heart is beautiful. And I just want to keep beautifying them, inside and out. I want to keep making them a better and better representative of me, of my Kingdom. I’m proud to associate with them. When people say, ‘That’s my Father; that’s my King that I serve. I’m a son or daughter of the Most High God. I’m an ambassador of God,’ I say, ‘I’m proud that he’s my son, that she’s my daughter.’”

That’s how God sees you. There will be times when the enemy will come in a sneaky way. He’ll come strategically in a valley season, with condemnation. You need to know that God is doing the opposite of condemning you. So stop listening to the devil’s lies. Reject the devil’s lies, in obedience to God, so you can keep training with God, so you can keep showing up every day, so He can mold you and transform you more today and the next day. You have to show up, to be ready to go, with energy, with motivation, and with joy, so that God can keep taking you higher in His perfect plan.

God sees you in the spirit. And often you don’t see yourself in the spirit, and that’s why you miss this revelation. He doesn’t look at you on the outside. He doesn’t look at your emotions. He looks at your heart. Some of you should look at your life and see what God has blessed you with, what He’s entrusted you with. That speaks about how God sees you.

Some of you have been entrusted with responsibilities in His Kingdom. Some of you have received His anointing poured out upon your life. Those of you who are serving at 5F Church are serving across the world. If God has entrusted you with these responsibilities, it means He sees you as a chosen one, as one of the few who have a heart after His. That is how God sees you. And you need to renew your mind to see how God sees you, so you can always receive the energy, strength, and motivation from the Holy Spirit that He’s giving you as He’s pouring out His love for you every day.

James 1:4

And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.

Some of you need to understand that you don’t need to do something drastic when God is calling you to do something simple. For example, you may think, “I’m going to read the Bible in a whole year. I’m so excited to do this.” But it wasn’t led by the Holy Spirit, and then you start the plan but you’re not able to do it because you don’t have the grace to do it. God didn’t actually call you to do that. Now you think, “Oh, I can’t do this,” and you give up, and now you don’t have any motivation to even read one chapter of the Bible a day.

Apply this to anything: to your lifestyle or your health or anything. Be wise. It’s simple. Yes, you need to have discipline, but what God is asking you to do will be simple. It will not be so burdensome. As you keep showing up, doing what the Holy Spirit is asking you to do, making that simple change every day, it’s going to add up over time. So be inspired. Be excited that the little difference you’re doing each day is leading to you changing every single day.

This is a word from God, a direction. It’s the third week that I’ve been teaching on the spirit of excellence, that God is calling you to be more excellent for Him this year. You should know by now that this is a real word from God for your life this year. God is calling you to come up higher in the spirit of excellence like never before. And if He's calling you to do it, it means He’s giving you the grace to be able to do it. He’s increasing your capacity.

It’s also very important for you to know that the timing wasn’t right before. Some of you did not have the capacity to make this change in the past, so you need to have this faith: “I’m going to be able to do this because I have the capacity to do it now. God has given me a greater capacity.” You’ve been growing continually, and now it’s time for the next level. God has worked out other things in you before, so now He can focus on this thing that you didn’t have the capacity to deal with in the past. God is increasing your capacity, and it’s time for this change.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

God is counting on you. He’s counting on you to grow so that He can do the good works He has planned to do through you in the future. You can’t skip this step. God is counting on you to make this change. This change is important. Remember that, and let that encourage you and motivate you daily.
